I decided to take on a different challenge today and build a version of a classic Zoid. I chose Hell Runner one of the very first kits bought for me.
This is a little interruption to my main project at the moment a micro-scale space city .

Hah! I managed to amass a large collection of Zoids in the 80s and had this fella. Very nicely done, just perfect really, and an excellent idea for a MOC subject! |

Yay Zoids! They were my 3rd favourite toy (after Lego and Transformers) and I remember this one well. Great rendition! |

Wow, I did not know there was a zoid like that! Maybe its because Zoids was before my time. I don't know as many things as other fans do, but I like it. |

this was the second zoid I bought way back in 1984, and still one of my favourites. You have certainly captured the feel of the design. |

since micronauts / microchange is one of the toylines that spawned what we no in north america as transfomers it may be a subject matter for the future I have contemplated it before but still have a list of projects to do first! you never know! |

ah zoids that brings me back
I found them quite interesting subject matter for Lego building. I'm thinking about checking out some Micronauts too, perhaps a build of Giant Acroyear http://www.microforever.com/giantacroyear.htm - I thought that might interest you as a project. |

He's cool. (Shh, I'll let you on to a secret. I did the same thing with my latest build... worked around it by saying he had a dislocated shoulder!) Hee, hee! :)
Let me rephrase, inverting the claws was clearly a carefully thought out design vision to improve on the original toy - and if you believe that... |

I like this because it's a nice MOC and I also had this zoid when I was a kid and it brought back memories.
Glad you enjoyed it; this was a pure nostalgia build for me too. |

Nice work getting the right shape and details! Even if the claw is inverted, it still looks cool! I can imagine how the cups must of looked and they sure do fit with the original toy! Well done!
I added one more photo wIth the claws the right way round. |

Great job! The arms and tail are particularly cool! |

...Oh yeah, but it still looks good though. I did the same thing with my latest, it is very frustrating when you notice something after your photo shoot. |

Cool! I remember these. Very accurate and poseable. can't wait to see your micro space city
Thanks. Just realised I have inverted his claws. He was dropped just before photograhing him; I must have rebuilt in error. |
