The Venom
Star Wars Relativity is now a thing of the past. No, I did not sell it; and no, it is not under a glass case somewhere. I finished sorting it today and then turned to a genre that I have never dabbled in. I've seen numerous Vic Vipers zipping across internet cyberspace, but I've never built one of my own. I changed that fact today with the construction of my own viper, the Venom. Enjoy!
About this creation

A lousy attempt at 'shopping the classic Vic Viper shot onto a white background.

The ship was not only an experiment in this kind of building, it was also a test of this color scheme that I've had in mind for quite some time. I just got some more lime green from a raffle prize at Brickworld, and now was the perfect time to try it out along with white and tan.

I sketched this particular design during some tedious lecture back during the school year, and just now got around to building it.

This is the "landing gear mode" in which the wings fold into stands resembling legs. Perhaps this could count as one of my first "mechs" as well.

And a final shot of the ship's engineer. This fellow was originally intended to be the pilot of the Venom, but he happened to be too large for the cockpit. The alien clinger from the Alien Conquest theme took the role as pilot instead.

Thanks for stopping by, and Soli Deo Gloria!

I have to agree with Ben, here. You are truly a master of the brick! Every possible genre seems no match for you ;) Fantastic work!

Quoting Ben King Jeez, is there anything you aren't good at? The landing gear is ingenious and the smoothness is spectacular. Also the color scheme looks great, it really goes nicely with the design of the ship. But what exactly is a vic viper?
Thanks for the comment, Ben! A Vic Viper, popularized in Lego form by the late Nnenn of Flickr, is any size or color space ship with three distinctive characteristics: two forward prongs, two pectoral rear fins, and a top, dorsal fin. I believe the original ship was the protagonist's in a video game called Gradius. In the Lego world, however, it is customary to construct Vic Vipers during the month of November after which, Nnenn was known to compile a large poster-like map of all the month's vipers. Each ship was photographed from the same position, (the front three quarters shot on white) and then laid out on the map. This tradition still continues, and you can easily find these maps online from the past years.

Bother, I had hoped to someday see relativity in person. At least you've put it's pieces to good use. Nice design and color scheme. Too bad the engineer couldn't fit into the cockpit. You should keep exploring this genre, you have a good start. Keep up the good work!

I have always said that ship's engineers need to be color coordinated with their rig! :)

Ive never met a VV I didn't like and this is no exception. Great form and technique. White and tan aren't my cup of tea but that doesn't detract from your first shot at a VV. Great job. ~cheers

Wow, that's a cool Vic Viper! The shaping is great! It would be cool to have it in the group "Vic Viper Owners Club" http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/20117 :-))

Wow, well done on both modes. The colors really stand out, in a good way, and it feels very aerodynamic in flight-mode. Very creative indeed.

RELATIVITY IS DISMATLED!!!??? NOOOOO!!! Okay. I think I'll be fine. A nice Vic Viper. I love the colors you used here. The landing mode is a stroke of genius. The engines look fantastic. A great way to follow up one of the most imaginitive MOCs I've seen to date. Speaking of which, did you see my last comment on Relativity about the "My Current Favorite" portion of my page? Please check it out and let me know.

This is a different sort of build for you, but I gotta say, it looks fabulous! The color scheme blends perfectly and it's easily recognizable as a Viper. Well done!
