Malum Vortus is one of Death's most ruthless, violent, and strategic men. Before he recruited him, Death once led his own personally army against him. Malum Vortus, at that time only known as Vortus, fought for the Toa and for justice. He engaged Death in a one on one fight and nearly came out the victor, except his weapons broke against the Demon's armor. Seeing his opportunity, Death quickly grabbed him, but instead of immediately killing him, he transformed his body using the dark energy in his claw. Vortus immediately turned on his own men and tore through them with broken swords. Once the battle ended, he returned to Death a new monster and earned the name Malum, meaning evil. He now makes his own arsenal, save the energy blade, and commands legions of undead soldiers in Death's name. Motto: "Please, keep telling you're invincible while I'm ripping out your heart with my bare hand."
About this creation
Being an artisan of war, he is equipped with high quality weapons that he crafted himself. In his right hand he wields a rifle with a surprise as well as a blade underneath. His left, a claw hand with a signature dark energy blade that Death gives to all his leaders. Lastly a heavy chaingun is mounted over his left shoulder.
A back view captures the lightest part of his armor and also where he is most vulnerable.
His leg design is simple but it works. Unfortunately, I didn't have any piston on hand so I had to make my own.
A closer view of his back.
I like the way his chest turned out. As much as it pained me, I had to disassemble Splitface for this build and that is the two halves of his head that you see on his chest.
Malum marching off to claim a new life.
That surprise I spoke of earlier.
With this arm and shoulder design, it makes him rather flexible, allowing him to reach over and grab the underside of the rifle.
The two guns are also interchangeable. As you can see here, the rifle comfortably sits on his shoulder now.
Death: "Why do you not bow in my pressence?!"
Malum: "I'm apologize, my lord; my creator did not give me knees to bend..."
That's all for now. Hopefully, I'll have another one of Death's men on here soon. I really enjoy making them and their backgrounds.
