Behold, The Engine Room. After several attempts of different designs, the frustrating fact that the window kept shattering, and almost giving up on this, I have finally finished. After finishing up all the Specs, I decided to add a few things that were unexpected to make the MOC look a little more interesting. I will now hand the time over to Chris St. Rench (Pun intended), our Head Engineer, to show you around the place. Enjoy!
About this creation

Chris Rench: Welcome to the Engine Room! I’m Chris Rench, you guide and Head Engineer! Let me show you around the place!

Chris Rench: Uh…first of all, I have to turn on the AC inhere, it’s hot!

Chris Rench: Hey, AI!
AI: Yes?
Chris Rench: Turn the temperature in the Engine Room down as far as you can, I’m about to have a stroke!
AI: Whatever you say. You still owe me that pig….
Chris Rench: You can’t eat.
AI: Oh yeah….

Chris Rench: Uh…Don’t ask. Now, to business.

Chris Rench: Hmm…looks like I have left my junk here.

Chris Rench: Now, here is my computer terminal…

Chris Rench: …That allows me to communicate with my crew and do some other cool stuff.

Chris Rench: Right there is my fire extinguisher, green button thingy, and my mug holder!

Chris Rench: Uh...One second…Yeah, what is it? Test the star drive? Hmm…alright, it couldn’t hurt.

Chris Rench: Follow me, they’re all ready to test out the star drive! We wanna see if it has any affect, even though it isn’t installed fully yet. Well…I guess it isn’t installed at all. We just hooked it up to that roller coaster and-Yeah, you get the idea.

Chris Rench: Ah, that is one of the many toolboxes that we have lying around here.

Chris Rench: Oh yes! This is the engine! Of course, the engine is much to large to fit into this vignette, but we were told to just add a thick window to peer at it through. Cool, huh?

Chris Rench: Another big box of tools. We have em’ everywhere.

Chris Rench: Now, follow me-*GRUNT*…

Chris Rench: *OOF*..*GRUNT*..*UH*..*AHH*…

Chris Rench: Here we are! Say hello…

Chris Rench: …to the star drive switch! We have two other switches sitting around it, and we don’t even know what they do. Every so often we bump them, and something strange always follows. One time the trap door opened up that lead to the garbage chu-Uh, yeah. You get the idea.

Chris Rench: Let me put my stuff up, you have to do this with both hands…if you can…

Chris Rench: *Grunt*…

*Everything shifts to the side*
Chris Rench: WAHH! STOP IT…

*Wump!*

Chris Rench: Sigh…Now I have to clean all this up…

Chris Rench: GASP! My mug spilled! My computer terminal!

Chris Rench: MY SOFT COMFY CHAIR! NOOOO…

Chris Rench: NOOOHOHOOOO! THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING! I SPENT FIVE MINUTES BUILDING THAT!

*WACK.WACK.WACK.*

Chris Rench: *Sigh* I guess we’ll have to install the gravity in this ship before we try that again…

Chris Rench: Hmm…Now up here…well, I don’t really know what is up here.

Chris Rench: Saaay, I never even built this!

Chris Rench: I wonder what is over this edg-WHOOPS!

*PSHHHH.*
Chris Rench: AHH!

Chris Rench: NO, DON’T DO THI-*Slip*

Automatic IA: Star drive switch automatic shut down starting…now.
*Everything shifts to the side.*

*WACK.*

*CRACK.*

*WUMP*

Chris Rench: Uh! Duh…

Terry the Chef: Hey, Chris! Your lunch is ready!
Chris Rench: Uh…You have it.

Terry the Chef: Really? Thanks!
*NOM NOM NOM…*

*NOM NOM NOM…*
Chris Rench: Sigh…

Chris Rench: Well…thank you for joining me. Until I get my head fixed, this is Chris Rench taking a nice nap…

Now, on to a few more pictures. Here’s the cool door that I felt the need to add…

The AI intercom that I also wanted to add, although it was not needed. I picture the AI as a giant computer with a voice that runs through the veins of the ship, being able to talk with anyone without any trouble.

Oh, the Specs! Here’s one fire extinguisher…

…two…

…and three!

Here is the unmistakable Star Drive switch…

The thick window to peer at the hot engine thingy….
(Sorry for bad pictures.)

And the computer terminal(I made it a little too big, but oh well.).

A shot of the wall(Again, sorry for bad picture. I was in a hurry.)

The back wall…

The next back wall…

…And the entire MOC again! Thanks for looking! Rating and comments welcome!
This was built for the Final Countdown. You should join, it's real fun!

Outstanding entry to the challenge, the XCOM is sure to be pleased. I enjoyed the fact that you didn't make the 'window' the central feature of the model. Your photography is excellent, and the story gave me a bit of a chuckle. "Stuff it!" The ship must launch, and with an engine room like this, we are well on our way. |

LOL Amazing work! But it would have been much better if you tiled off the floor to the whole thing. So again, Outstanding job! |
