GAIA A-12 "Firebird" Space Superiority Starfighter
The A-12 "Firebird" , a light but fast interceptor designed to fight Draggonne fighter craft.
About this creation
The A-12 Space Superiority Starfighter, also known as Firebirds to their pilots and Capital ship Brass, is one of the newest additions to GAIA's anti-Draggonne forces. Lightly armored and fast, these fighters can be a major headache to the Draggonne. They do not have the punch of the heavier main fighters that GAIA employs. The Firebird mounts a single machinegun under the chin.

CREATOR'S NOTES:

I didn't really have a story to this one, just one of many used by the 'ragtag' forces of GAIA.

I did imagine this as something close to what the American 'branch' of GAIA would use, as it kind of reminds me of an American fighter jet, though that was unintentional.

Anyway, hope you like it, Parrington! Long Live GAIA!

Quoting Thomas Z. This looks really awesome Rabid, Great job! Tough I think it needs more guns, or different mountable weapons. I think I love the engine part the most on this.
I am definitely not done with the Firebird, trust you me.

Love the fighter Rabid! Looks like a killer. Really like the sharp angles and jagged look to it. As always great photo work on the opening photo. Keep it up as always. By the way im trying to spread the word about CUUSOO, not sure if you have heard of it yet but it is fairly new. Could help you get your mecha theme into a lego set possibly. Trying to get support as well for my Tron Light Cycle as well here is a link to the site- http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/15895 . Thanks for the support if you can, and just trying to pass the word for CUUSOO. Later.

Awesome fighter, very sleek. The turbines are gorgeous. I just think it should feature more weapons.

Quoting RICtendo (Hungry) This is plain awesome. The cockpit is a beautiful blend of AEGAKS and GAIA
Thanks. Since the Pilot block was originally intended for aircraft, it is extremely versatile for going between mecha and aircraft.

Quoting Mike C Very sharp Starfighter. The design looks great and the colors work really well together. Very nice work.
Thanks. I built this in 2 and half hours this morning. I had a builder's hangover, and had to build.

Quoting Parrington Levens Like it, love it, it has a real retro feel and the keel is plain cool. Fun to see a nose mounted cocpit, I always imagine people that drive Vans to be extra brave, lol, and there may well have been the occasional American colony world joining GAIA rather than AM-SPACE in the first 'Alien War'. Great idea, would make for an interesting story, from an AM-SPACE point of view, 'The colony that got away...' Cool design here, from top down Jase :)
Glad you liked it. I didn't really have a story in mind, so feel free to concoct one for it. I've had so much on my mind as of late, I really feel like I'm falling apart. Hopefully I'll get straightened out soon.

This is awesome. Makes my work look like a few blocks stacked on top of each other. Either way, it's still so awesome.

Quoting Aidan Bryant Hey! That's really neat! Love the layout, reminds me of something I can't quite put my finger on, maybe R-Type?
Never seen R-type before. I did pull elements from several of my previous builds though.
