A train has just arrived at the station. Situated at the outskirts of a small village near the forest, it is still rarely frequented, but that will change in the years to come.
From the back you can see the stairs leading up to the main building as well as some auxiliary buildings used by the signalman.
Making of
This model is a spin-off from a larger diorama where it did not fit the intended scale.
By using a diagonal arrangement of the track, I get a little more space between the carriages to make the entire train look more realistic. A half stud displacement would have been way too much at this scale.
In total, this creation uses 189 pieces on an irregular 18x10 stud base. The locomotive itself is made of 9 pieces. Given the small size, somebody has probably come up with this configuration before, but it works quite nicely.
Inspired by a comment on this page, I am presenting some variations on the theme 'locomotive'. Which one do you like best?
Nice microscale, it looks quite real! One thing on the engine, I would eliminate the 1x1 round piece used as a dome, the stud underneath would work and it would be smaller too.
