Immediately following the events of Chapter 17. As the Jedi assault on Korriban draws to a close the Yond'Ull Twins head through the Catacombs searching for Darth Vulnero to stop him and restore Balance to the Force...
About this creation
(Karlo and Vince enter the recently vacated Tomb of Darth Vulnero only to find it empty)
Vince- What? Where is he? How can a Sith Lord disappear so quickly?
Karlo- Hmm, I think I may have a hunch.
(Karlo feels around the sarcophagus and uses the Force to heave it onto the ground revealing a secret tunnel)
Vince- I sense the Dark Side.
Karlo- And Darth Vulnero. Let's go.
(They enter into an eerily silent tunnel. The entrance closes behind them cutting off any light)
Vulnero- So these are the spawn of my killer? Ha! Ha! Ha! Let us see if you are as pure as you think.
Karlo- I don't like this Vince. Vince!
(Karlo spins around to see Hazar Lamus standing before him)
Karlo- Impossible you're dead! I killed you myself!
Hazar- Yes you did. But the hate you have for me still burns within you. You are no Jedi, you are a sham!
(Karlo turns as a Dark form of his Master Alinta appears)
Karlo- What is this master? What is going on?
Alinta- How could you ever claim to be an apprentice of mine? You are nothing but a failure!
(Realizing that the figures were only Dark Visions, Karlo calmed the rising rage within him to face a Dark form of Master Juon-Sai)
Juon- You are nothing to me! You have failed more than Hazar! And now you will pay the price for failure!
(The spirits activate their blades)
Karlo- Enough!
(Karlo unleashes a force blast knocking the effigies back as they disappear)
(Elsewhere Vince continues down the tunnel, he stops sensing another presence behind him)
Vince- Who are you?
Janax- I am Janax Narr, the assassin who killed you parents. Don't you remember me? How I killed them? How sad that I hadn't got to you!
(Out of the shadows another figure appears, an alien slaver)
O'lech Blach- Do you remember me boy? I am O'lech Blach the one who killed your Uncle on Tatooine. You managed to kill me in a fight, but that isn't a very Jedi like thing to do now is it?
Vince- I...I...
(He spins around as a dark version of Master Boris steps out)
Boris- I should have let the slug kill you on Tatooine! You'll never become a Jedi! You will fall here!
(The spirits activate their blades)
Vince- Never!
(Vince strikes out stabbing O'lech as he disappears)
(Boris falls next disappearing into the shadows)
(Janax is last to fall as Vince hurriedly runs off)
(Vince and Karlo meet up nearly running into each other)
Karlo- Did...did you see anything in there?
Vince- It was like a nightmare, dark spirits kept tempting me to give into my anger I'm...not too sure I resisted...
Karlo- Look there's a light up there. Let's get out of this forsaken cave.
(The two run out of the cave)
Karlo- Vince! Look!
(They stop before Darth Vulnero)
Vulnero- So you have passed my tests, but not entirely unshaken I see.
Karlo- Yes, and we're here to stop you Vulnero!
Vulnero- Ha! Such resolve in your words, son of Yond'Ull, but you will fall, just as the Jedi did years ago before me!
Vince- All but one, the original Yond'Ull and now there are two of us! You don't stand a chance!
Vulnero- We shall see.
(The Dark Lord spins around blasting the two Jedi back)
Vulnero- You are only children! Not even full Jedi! Your ancestor may have bested me but I will not be defeated again!
(Karlo gets up first and faces the Sith)
Vulnero- And it is only fitting that I shall avenge myself two fold upon his descendants!
(The two lock blades, Vulnero using his superior strength to push Karlo back)
(As Karlo falls back Vince jumps in striking low at Vulnero)
Vulnero- You have spirit child, but not skill! You are but a slave boy pretending to be a Jedi! What chance do you have?
Vince- And you are a spirit pretending to be alive so we must be even!
(Vulnero pushes Vince back and faces the twins)
Vulnero- How can it be this is the only obstacle to my domination of the galaxy? What makes you special?
Karlo- Nothing. You fear the name of Yond'Ull and that is all that has held you back, a fear...a fear of us!
Vulnero- I am the fear that strikes the heart of the Jedi, I will destroy you all!
(Vulnero rams into Karlo forcing his blade out of his hand)
Vulnero- I am not only a force wielder Jedi! I am the Force! And soon you will exist only to feed my conquest!
Karlo- Not yet!
(Karlo calls his lightsaber to his hand, cutting Vulnero's blade in half)
Vulnero- You! You will pay for this!
(Taking the opening Vince attacks straight at Vulnero's head but the lightsaber burns out on Vulnero's armor)
Vince- Wha-
Vulnero- Ha! Ha! Ha! Foolish child, my armor is made from pure cortosis your lightsabers are useless against it! It’s time to end this, now you will see the true power of the force!
(Vulnero launches a massive life drain attack on the Jedi)
Karlo- Quick do what I do!
(Karlo quickly moves his hands and redirects the attack at Vince who redirects it straight at Vulnero)
(The force attack surrounds Vulnero as he staggars back)
Vulnero- Impossible! This can’t be happening! I am the Force!
(The attack overwhelms Vulnero as he explodes in a fiery conflagration)
(The two Jedi look on at the smoldering remaind of Darth Vulnero’s armor)
Vince- So… we did it, Darth Vulnero is dead.
Karlo- For the last time, let’s leave this rock.
(The Jedi Temple, two days later)
Ban- …and it is with the greatest honor that I make you both a Jedi Knight.
(With the flick of a wrist Ban cut off both their padawan braids)
Ban- Arise Knight Karlo Yond’Ull and Knight Vince Yond’Ull.
Ban- You two have gone above and beyond what I ever expected. I never thought much would come of a street urchin from Tatooine, and I especially had my reservations about trusting a pompous padawan of the man who nearly killed me.
Alinta- I agree both of you have preformed exceptionally in the most difficult of circumstances, but remember even as Knights your learning is not over. Masters Ban, Gulio, and myself will always be here to help.
Gulio- You are the among of the first Jedi knighted during the times of war, yet you have kept to the light among the darkness around us, and even, for a time, restored Balance to the Force.
(The members of the Jedi council looked on at their newest knights)
Boris- They really have done exceptionally you know.
Yoda- Restored Balance for a time they have, and combated a great evil as well. Think I do that greater things they are yet to do.
Shaak Ti- And we will be there to guide them along the way.
(Amid all the celebrating Karlo turned around and saw the spirit of Master Juon Sai standing before him)
Juon- You have done well padawan, and have made your master very proud.
Karlo- Thank you master.
(With that the spirit disappeared and for the first time in a long while Karlo felt at peace)
(The Works, Coruscant)
Dooku- Darth Vulnero had failed my lord. Kasamir and his rogues are dead, and the Jedi have sustained only minimal casualties.
Sidious- It does not matter, the gambit with Darth Vulnero was a costly one but my ultimate plan remains in motion. The Jedi cannot stop the rising darkness that is to come. Everything is proceeding exactly as I have planned.

Here it is the final chapter of Star Wars The Clone Wars Balance of the Force!
First off a big thank you to all who have been following the series and rating and commenting on the chapters.
Secondly I plan on continuing the story into another comic series set during the Clone Wars as well.

Fantastic final duel, I love the scene where Vulnero disappears and his armour is picked up by the drain attack.
The only thing that I have to say for the next series is to makes sure that Boris is still there :P
Looking forward to your new KOTOR creation as well :) |
