Sick Bay Building Challenge
A build for "The Final Countdown" group.
About this creation
Sick Bay Building Challenge

"Our chief medical officer reports that although he will be able to keep us alive for 5 weeks, we will need treatment for respiratory ailments and massive de-tox treatments very soon. This means we need a clinic.

All required equipment is on hand: A surgical table, a dialysis machine, and a bio bronchial-purge tank. But we canít waste any time building a clinic and then building a Sic Bay for the ship later."

Meet your Medical Officer Dr. Benjamin Dover.

Here he demonstrates how the Bio Beds tilt for easy entry.

Here we have the Bio Bronchial Purge Unit.

Dr. Dover demonstrates how the unit is used.

Here we see the Surgical Table, complete with a Bio Scanner/Sterile Field Generator.

The Scanner slides for full body coverage and lifts for ease of entry.

Here is the Dialysis Machine. Patients lie on the table and the arm band automatically siphons blood through the machine and back into the patient.

Another view of the Bio Beds with vitals monitor overhead.

A final shot confirming the prescribed 16x16 with no overhang.

In keeping with the true spirit of this challenge, I got home this morning at 7 a.m. from a 12 hour work shift and started building. I finished at 2 p.m. and still haven't been to sleep. I'm glad we have Pepsi in the house! My six year old asked me if he could have this when I was done with it... how can I refuse?

Nicely done! The tank is superb, and the tilting beds are brilliant!

Corpsman Puaper. I think your version of the Bio-bronchial purge tank is a stand alone victory. If I was building a composite bay, I think I would put three of these things in! Very simple but it really makes compleate sence to me. It's like the tilt beds. Something I could see being used in real life. Your Doctor... Dr. Dover ...have you no shame sir! None? Ben... I can't say it.

The walls are a little bit bricky, but the designs of the other items are really good!

Quoting T. Young Not one of your best works but still great. Nice to see you back.
I agree but this was tough getting all that crammed in there! The walls I left intentionally unfinished for picture taking purposes.
