it s very interesting, it must have a great rolling feeling to it, I like the original technique you used on these tires, I don t mind the studs much with that kind of shape, very nice indeed! |

Hi Joe! I bought the 9398 Crawler last week! It took not too much time to build it! (after the Unimog :))) It's a good fun to play with, but I think the weight of it is too big for these motors. The batteries lose their strength quickly. It has diffs, so sometimes it can't go further. But the funniest thing is that it can go only on the front, or only on the rear wheels because the battery box is in high position! :D I don't want to persuade you, I've just tell my experiences! :) |

Lovely little vintage-styled model. I really like the flow of the exhaust and the wheel design. Do I spy HOG (Head of guy >.<) steering via the man's head? If so, that's nicely incorporated :) |

Thanks guys, glad you like the classic look. It is always good fun using vintage lego - it always brings back good memories. @ Chris - I remember those sets. Most of my remaining vintage stuff (late 70s early 80s) is technic. Big fan of technic as a kid, but I also had a few classic space sets. I have lost most of it, but just had enough to make my classic space punk. I recently bought a load of classic space minifigs, but have not got around to using them. Hopefully soon. |

Well, I think the effect was worked great. It really chaps my hide that I let a bunch of bricks from my childhood go, I used to have scores of those kind of tires! They came on a lot of the original Technic stuff, and a favorite classic space missile launcher! It's cool to see you build some different stuff other than super heroes too. Looking forward to your next MOC, Z |

I love this! The side profile is my favourite angle. Some really clever imaginative details here, like the wheels and front air intake. But my favourite feature is the 'Head of God' steering lol He looks like he's smiling at me in that last picture :) For a 3/4 hour build this is really very good and I enjoyed it very much! I just hope it survives demolition so I can come and play with it soon ;-) Haha thanks Tomaso - the side view and top view are my favourites. Those upside down studs make perfect eyes and the smiley face was a bonus :). It is not going to last long - I want to build a Lotus 49b next or maybe a Jag for Nick's team.

Thanks guys. Glad you like it. The wheels are made by removing the original hubs and trapping the tyre between the pulley wheels (at the back) and the curved cogs/gears (the teeth fit perfectly into the holes in the tyre). It works very well and is strong enough for my kids to play with it. |

Gotta love this! The steering is a fantastic bonus, the driver's head is perfect! It's good to see a car from you again! But I'm not fond of the yellow hose. I think yellow wheel arches (like my birdcage) might look better. Just a thought. I'm discouraged at the moment, so inspiration isn't on my side; I won't be posting frequently (especially cars won't be finished anytime soon). Have fun MOCing! ;-) Still a 5/5 build. -LB Jr. |
