MAKUTA TERIDAX [REBOOTED]
[STATUS- DISASSEMBLED] This was my entry to the Eliminatories part of the 2012 BIO-CUP TOURNAMENT. This moc is not only a reboot of him but it is what I think they should have made Makuta Teridax look like to begin with. Hope you like it!

Quoting Some Guy Hmmm. Well I guess you probably already considered using the original head and realized given the huge body you're planning, that would just be too bizarre. I guess you could use the toa hali mahri huge head you get in the toa mahri battle set, but that would have to be one enourmous bionicle to use it. The only other option I have in mind would have it be a version of makuta in the split second after takanuva takes off makuta's mask but before they fall in the pool and fuse. You could use hf bone pieces to create tendrils of darkness lashing out everywhere. If you want to make it into a story, maybe create a parallel universe where makuta and takanuva never fused. It may not be the best idea, but it's the best one I've got. How do you get your hands on ten makuta's anyways? It would be hard enough to get them if they were selling them, but now that they've been off shelves for almost a decade
I am one of few people that knows of several places and sellers to get the rarest sets for well below the value price. 0w0 Also regarding the custom mask, I'll look into what you suggested, while at the same time I was thinking that *if* I have to I could easily build a lego brick version of a scaled up Kanohi Kraahkan Movie Edition mask on LDD. Although I'd hate to have to resort to using bricks although it might look good. I'm also going to see if I could make it with HF skeleton pieces.

Quoting Some Guy To be honest, I like this better than most of the other entries because it actually uses the same basic build as the original. This actually bears surprising resemblance to the original, where-as others bear almost no resemblance. I bet you would have scored much higher if you had a blank background, but I understand the time crunch. Awesome lower legs, by the way.
Thanks for the compliment! I was actually glad I was able to make it look like a plausible version of what the set could have originally looked like, while being much better of course. Over the course of this year I will be acquiring about ten [10] Makuta Teridax sets along with some others to make a super massive complex revamped version of him and I have already figured out the entire body design except for how to scale up his head/mask [Movie Edition of course.]. You wouldn't happen to have any ideas for the up-scaled version of the mask would you, because not only is that part hard to figure out but it is almost impossible to do it with bionicle pieces as I see it.

Quoting Berial . Y U NO MAKE ORIGINAL CUSTOM TORSO?! 6/10
Trust me I wanted to, but I was pressed for time and I ran out of parts and money. In several months though I will be making a true revamp that is colossal that is made up of at least six to seven Makuta Teridax sets along with some others, plus the mask will be *made* from scratch into a scaled up version.

Quoting NoWhereMan . I like the MOC a lot actually. I think you deserved more points than what you got. Oh well. I like how you mixed the old set with a newer look by using the new pieces. I really like the use of the stronius armor. I wish I came up with it.
My favorite part about my version of him is that besides looking more powerful and heavily armored than the original is that he has the height of a true titan. But by sometime next year [or sooner] I plan on aquiring at least six or eight Makuta Teridax sets and a few other choice parts to make a super massive version of him that from a distance looks very close to my current one but in technicality every piece is made up of at least five or six [armor and skeleton wise], not only that but I also plan on building a sized up version of the Kanohi Kraahkan movie edition mask for it.

Quoting Johann Dakitsch Not bad I guess, but this loks like you just got the original set and changed, like, 10 pieces and added blue pins (even if it isn't the case, it looks like so). 4/10
I would have done a lot more and made it much larger and more complex if I had money to buy at least three more Makuta Teridax sets. and a few bionicle lots. I hope that one day when I get a job I'll be able to make one that is much better.

Quoting Harvey Cu You wont get any high scores with judges if you don't have a good clean background. 6/10
I agree with you. Unfortunately I had no backgrounds available to me at the moment. :)

This MOC is a big improvement on the original set, but that's not saying much because that set was -blah-. Work on presentation. 5/10.

Quoting Super Pikmin Cool! It looks close to the original, but better. Good job!
That's actually exactly what I was going for. I didn't want to make it completely different, just "much more better"! in the "" is a quote from Captain Jack Sparrow!

Glad you like it! Sorry about not posting a pic of the original set when I submitted this moc, I was really pressed for time because we were getting ready to go up north for the weekend, I will post the pic tomorrow.

Quoting Backblast ? I find this character very hard to replicate and you sir have done a very good job at it
Thanks! Strangely enough all but the arms came easily and naturally to me in an Instant, and I'm glad that you like it! I just hope that I will be able to do well in the next round.
