About this creation

The Non-Loyalist Mk.1-2 MADS (Mobile Air Defense System) was a stopgap measure for protecting Non-Loyalist ground forced from the feared Harpy models of Autonomous VTOL aircraft.

The main armament of the Mk.1-2 is a pair of 30mm autocannons. These are linked to the on-board radar system. This system also controls the units four SA-6 short range SAMs (locates in pods on either side of the gun mount) The entire system is mounted on a rotating platform at the rear of the vehicle, located above the engine and 30mm ammo storage.

Here we see the unit raised in firing position.

The crew compartment is located at the front of the vehicle. While there is only one hatch, the compartment holds 3: a driver, an engineer, and a system operator. The single hatch ensures that the crew compartment's space can be used effectively. While this may pose safety concerns, the nature of the Mk.1-2's role in combat allows the vehicle to stay out of harms way (most of the time).
