I was almost embarrassed to post this, to tell the truth. This is going to be my last LOTR MOC in a while, as the MoccerCup is coming up soon and I want to get as far as I can. As the first sentence said, this was an epic fail. I could have done a LOT better. Oh well...This was inspired by Jackson Williams "Castle Construction", and I was first thinking of making a MOC about Rohan soldiers building a castle tower. But than it somehow morphed into a castle wall. Oh well, there is always a next time. This scene depicts an army of Uruk-Hai rushing to the front of some random Rohan castle.
About this creation
The whole scene
The Castle Wall. It's kinda empty up there, I know...
A random Rohan archer(Wish I could have more...)
Aragorn(Don't ask me why he is in this MOC, please.)
Eomer(Again, dont ask...)
The Uruk-Hai charging over a small stream. I am VERY disapointed on how this worked out, Im still trying to find a good water technique....
A Rohan soldier on the tower
A weird bucket contraption. Perhaps this was orignally used in the castle construction, while the tower was built, but they kept it for other things, like dumping boiling water on their enemies.
The tower entrance, which is a little too small.
Oops, double picture!
A sword rack.
The bottom floor, where I was orignally going to put a dungeon, but It didn't work out.
The boring side.
The entire MOC again.
The MOC without the minifigs.
The badly made stream.
The good minifigs.
The bad minifigs.
Thanks for looking, I'll hopefully do better next time. Sorry for the bad pictures!
Pretty good work on the castle.
-Maybe add details inside. There can be an oppertunity for NPU there. Look at AP's Rise of the Mage for inspiration.
-The stream is okay. But try other techniques to see what you like. Try SNOT or look at LukeClarenceVan's LotR MOC. His river was good.
-I don't really like the black border though. Maybe make it dark grey or under the MOC like Deff's or AP's.
-Other than that it's pretty good.
I really like the varying sizes of the windows, and the stream, if you changed the plates in the bottom to dark tan or blue, I think it would improve the look of the stream. I like the rocks too, the smooth one looks like it was formed by running water, so it works perfectly by the stream. Great job!
Y'know. I've looked this over, and despite your dissatisfaction, I really think this is some good stuff. The castle has the right look. I like the bucket contraption. The minifigs look good. The best part for me is the interior. Some nice attention to detail there, especially the way the stairs fit in there. Nice work.
Seriously dude, don't be so hard on yourself!!! This build is FANTASTIC! I love the detail in the wall, and the inside of the fort is really well done! The river's not too bad either! I love the wooden supports in the lowest floor of the fort too! Great job!!! -Caleb
You got nothing to be ashamed of here! I agree with Ru, though. I thought your stuf was going to be junky just by looking at your icon, but I took a look anyways, and it turned out, you have talent! Is the basket for lowering aul out of the wall? (If you're a christian you'll most likely understand) Great job, 5/5. Keep it up! God Bless ~ David.
Why are you beating yourself up man? I personally thought this was a superb build:) There's so many great details like the wall, the stream, the landscape, ect! So next time you post a creation, don't be so hard on yourself;) Just keep building how your building and you'll get far in the LEGO world!
