Bordakh
Bio-Cup 2012 Entry #1
About this creation

I just had to find the worst image possible of Bordakh. It seems using cool photos was too mainstream ;P

I would say that this is a pretty rough 'sketch' of a MOC if you like - it's nowhere near my usual standards. Having said that, I'm quite happy with how it came out and don't think I could improve it much if I tried! (Which I wouldn't, because I don't have that much time on my hands.)

Another interesting thing to note is that Bordakh shares the same colour scheme with my Self-Mech. I guess you could call Bordakh my patron Vahki then? Sweet.

Also lol, I couldn't resist it in that pose. Party hard, dudes.

Quoting Clever Crowe Wildly improved upon the Original. Sorry to hear in your replies that flexibility was a factor, but who among us hasn't dealt with that? I like the resistors tubes used, for looks if nothing else, and I love the LEG re-design. The spindly original's frame is just a Bad Memory: love that torso and arm design. Cheers!
Thankyou very much! ^u^

Thankyou judges! (And everyone else, but particularly the judges 'cos they're cool like that.) @Bionitech: Poseability is never a huge factor in my builds, although it's a bonus if I can get it to be aesthetically pleasing and maneuverable at the same time. The tubing does restrict movement a fair bit (mostly on the arms) but the main restriction is on the arms themselves - those Metru feet prevent the arms from angling any less than they are in the main picture. @Yuri: I reckon I could've done something with the technic hands there, but in the end I wanted to make them as unnoticeable as possible! Haha, looks like that didn't entirely work. I'll make sure not to screw up like that next round ;)

You have turned what was a silly set into something that LEGO would be proud of. Bravo. 10/10.

I think the fact that you got the fluorescent eye-brain core-obtuse blunt thingy in the back of his head to be the same shade and saturation of orange as the rest. It really makes the whole thing a lot sharper.

PS those socket joints on the feet were one of its best features to me. Perhaps attaching a tooth to them? As a spur?

Awesome entry, mate! Great look and build. My only nitpick is just that socket on the feet, but really, thats the only thing I can think of. What can I say? 10/10

Doesn't seem all too mobile from the looks of the wiring in the back. How is it in terms of balance and posing ability? I like it but I don't know if you put it's sense of mobility and transformation into account.

Thankyou guys :3 @Lego Obsessionist: You're right, those socket joints look terrible on the legs :( I'm really not sure how I'd fix it though - perhaps ditch them all together and go for something stemming from the hole in the Inika leg part just above it? @Luiz Camargo: You're totally right, they do bear similarities (possibly because of the dual blades)!

What a drastic improvement from set to MOC! That will surely get this noticed.

I usually not comment in Bionicle MOCs, but this entry forced me to, mainly because it look like a Protoss Templar from Starcraft, which is very cool (Image reference: http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0/1643/214138-ss12_hires.jpg). Aside from that, it's a very cool creation with excellent body proportions and a very well distributed awesome color scheme. A winner, for sure.

Wonderful blend of the official set and some nice, new details. I love the extra orange. The legs whould be great, if only you could make the Y sockets on the heels look more natural. Great job otherwise.

Dang. That is awesome. I love the way you did the feet and staff weapons. Too bad you couldn't have done the white one (couldn't remember it's name).
