Main Beach in Legona Beach is one of the most visited beaches in the city. Today a lifeguard noticed a woman in distress. The lifeguard responded to the woman as fast as he could and saved her life. While on the way into shore the women went into cardiac arrest which required guards to commence CPR and call for ALS and BLS back up. The Lifeguard unit responded within three minutes of the emergency call. The lifeguard supervisor brought the AED and O2 to help in the resuscitation. An ALS unit responded within six minutes. The medic started an IV and gave drugs to get the heart into regular rhythm again. The patient was transported Code 3 to Legona Beach Hospital and is currently in the ICU recovering.
