Neutrino Jet
For this particular spaceship, my style influence came mostly from a 1962 cadillac that I saw parked outside a pizza restaurant in Cookeville. The jet-like fins on top and below and the chrome around the tail light made it look like what jet age man thought the space age would look like. Heres a link to a '62 cadillac so you can see what I mean. http://www.streetrodding.com/pics.view/419026 I wanted to make this spaceship a blend of two styles, one is my own heavily detailed, industrial look. The other is more of a buck rogers spaceship style, with sweeping curves, stretched out fins, and plenty of chrome. With the jet-age look, it needs a jet-age name. Neutrino-Jet. It's the kind of marketing that implies that this spaceship uses neutrinos for fuel, or cruises along at near lightspeed. I think it is a success. The star wars nerds will probably like that the basic shape is a little bit like darth vader's tie fighter. It is shown here in two different versions. The main picture and next two pictures show the initial version, while the other pictures and the downloadable model are of the latest version. You should download and disassemble the model to learn how to make arches into cockpit sides. It will probably help you get the most out of that bubble canopy.
About this creation

After deciding to make this little spaceship in actual plastic, I made a few changes. The sensor cluster was changed slightly. Bricks that I could not find on bricklink were deleted and substituted with something else. Some bricks were substituted with others that would give a better appearance or add strength.

Front view.

The pilot plugs in using the gray 1x1 round plate on his life support pack. The life support plug is yellow.

The landing gear has been changed slightly for a more streamlined appearance. The rear landing gear has been moved forward and changed to the same design as the front. The Lance part has been substituted with two thick antenna masts.

I sure hope so, JWG 258, because that looks to be one sweet space fighter once it's in plastic. You're going to get lots of hits once that happens, that's for sure.

Quoting Tim C Wow! I must admit, I haven't made many comments on LDD creations, but I couldn't pass this one up. The design is incredible. Love the colors. Stunning. I also like how the cockpit is tucked in like that.
This one is going to be in real plastic soon.
