Functional minifig-scale Batmobile Tumbler with full suspension, opening hatch and movable flaps. Fits 2 figs.
About this creation
- Update, 28 May: Extended wheelbase (1 stud), the flaps are movable now. Check out the videos of the working suspension and the movable flaps on Flickr
"Got to get me one of those!" That was what I thought when I saw Zeto's Übertumbler some months ago. But I didn't have the building abilities at that time. Now I thought I should give it a try since the Tumbler is one of the coolest movie vehicles around.
- It should fit 2 figs (Batman and Rachel).
- It should have the typical front wheel suspension.
- It should be functional and playable since the Tumbler is an action vehicle.
- It should have no or only a few visible studs since the smooth surface is a typical aspect of the vehicle.
- It should consist rather of panels than of bricks.
- openable hatch
- rear suspension (live axle with spring)
- independent suspension of the front wheels (unsprung)
- steering (no real function, for presentation purposes only, some parts must be added)
- interior (with batarang holder!)
- movable flaps
Thanks a lot guys, somehow missed the last comments. @BB: Thanks! There are quite a few copies already, no problem. Sorry, no instructions - but Mel Eppix who rebuilt it has made a lot of photos of it during a convention, I'm sure he will share them if you are really interested, see http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/93222. @CL: Thanks a lot! @White: Glad you like it! @Andy: Thanks a lot mate! Same for your version, of course! @Zbigniew: Many thanks! @LN, Treck Police, Peanut: Cheers!

that is awesome! could you post directions? I'm not looking to copy you and post it, only for personal use.
@Alex: Thanks a lot! Very glad you like it. @Nils: Many thanks for your nice comment, mate! Very glad you like it since your mini tumbler is one of the best around. You see, my movie car pool is growing, but you are still ahead of me. Looking forward to your next one!
Wow, Marcus, the final version is so cool! Shaping and the functions are great. I can't decide if I prefer the steering or the front suspension. The opening roof is cool, too! I think your tumbler is as cool as Zeto's, but your has the advantage of minifig compatibility. Great job, pal! :-))
Many thanks guys, sorry for the delay! @Chris: It is quite sturdy and fully playable because of the strong frame (see Flickr videos, http://www.flickr.com/photos/er0l/sets/72157629903558090/). However, if you grab it from above and push too tight, a tile might come off. In that sense it isn't as sturdy as, say, the Corvette (which rather has the feel of a Matchbox car ;-) ). @LegoBooklet Kid: Please do not rate the MOC anytime you leave a comment. I am sorry, I don't do instructions and I am afraid I don't fit your requirements either. Have you checked out Zeto's Tumbler already? He has done instructions: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/307400 If you really want to build my Tumbler I am willing to help you but I will answer further questions via e-mail only (see homepage). @Austin: You are right concerning the roof. Its shape is due to the requirement of fitting two heads underneath and keeping the whole thing as low as possible. Compromises have to be met ... ;-)

Think you could make this on LDD?
I'm sorry, but I don't use LDD for some reasons. Thanks for inviting me, but under such circumstances my membership might be useless for your purposes. If you think I should join anyway please feel free to send me an e-mail (see homepage).
Many thanks guys, glad you like it that much!
@Romy: I agree ;-) @Scott: This was some preview stuff on Flickr. 1. It's the scene in the movie when Bruce Wayne sees the Tumbler for the first time. 2. LOL. My idea was: "Superhero car convention? No sir, I am sorry." @Brickbrothers: Many thanks, I will check it out. @Tom: Thanks a lot. I am feeling well, only quite busy ... @Nate: Thanks, I will check it out.
So freakin' sweet! This is something I would play with, and im over 30. The last two pics...1. Why is it covered, for the winter? 2. Great shot! Batman: "I see you" Catwoman: "Oh s#!+..." ROFL. Really great build. ~cheers
