This is my newest Lego moc, based around the idea of treasure being hidden amongst a seaward cliff side.
About this creation
The setting for this moc is the 19th century, with a squadron of British imperial guards chasing down a thief. The thief however has ran out of room when he notices two pirates stealing treasure to their boat. The pirates also notices the guards to their dismay.
I first came up with the idea to make this back in 2011 and since then i gathered the pieces that i need for the build (mostly from Lego's 'pick a brick' service). In total I ended up ordering around 6000 - 7000 pieces but used around the 4000 mark (as a best guess). I'm sure i will use the remaining in my next moc ;) The build time for this moc lasted over 3 days, with several hours spent building each day and as always it was a lot of fun to build.
Originally in my design i came up with idea of a hatch on top of the cliff, that when opened let a beam of light illuminate the treasure below. However after building this section i realized that such an effect was not happening naturally. As a consequence i decided to install a lighting system to help illuminate the treasure, which worked to great effect. It runs of a single AAA battery which is combined with a switch and attached to the back of the moc (out of sight).
Overall i am very happy with the outcome of this moc and am proud to add it to my collection. Thanks for taking a look! enjoy...
