Gundam RX 178 Mark II (Titans)
My second Mobile Suit creation....
About this creation
I think I caught the Gundam bug, they lend themselves so well to my building style. I present to you my second Gundam Lego model, from Mobile Suit Z (Zeta) Gundam: the RX 178 Mark II in Titan colours (as seen in the first few episodes of Mobile Suit Z(Zeta) Gundam)

Some noteables on this design: Main colour is Navy (earth) blue. About 12 inches tall, loads of poseability and articulation, sturdy frame, adjustable skirts (front, back and sides), weapons and accessories true to the show.

PS don't worry you'll still see some legoformers coming soon!

yes Titans Colours as seen in the First few episode of MS Z Gundam! (see the description) Cheers!
Quoting andros tempest Love the colour choices, are they based on an official gundam? I've lost touch with the franchise recently so beyond very generic information I know very little.

these r about 2/3 to 3/4 of scale to minifigs, you could build a cockpit in fact i will be releasing a frame that will allow for that very soon for my mech factory line.
Quoting Brody Allen Another great build. I would love to see these Minifig scale to up the playability and make a true mobile suit.

Just got love it. Great looking build. It really does have the 80's robot toy feel to it.

While I'm personally not a huge fan of the color for some reason (but hey, it's just a personal choice) the build is simply... AWESOME! I really love the playability of this and it brings back all those lovely memories from the 80's! Great work man! ~Chris.

Basically agreeing with everyone else, and stating the obvious, the dark blue is DOPE! I'm envious you have so much of it, I don't have enough to even highlight anything. Great build Chris, and BTW, I think the gundam -mech break is a great change from the transformers, keeps things moving!

u mean the skirts?
Quoting Scott Allen Ok, you have the Midas touch when it comes to branded robots. Lol. I love that dark blue. I really like where the legs are attached, how they are covered by that part of the lower torso. That looks great! I wish that they were more color coordinated, but thats the Gundam way. Keep up the phenomenal builds buddy. ~cheers

I've seen and contemplated that one - my next one which I have already started is another model which is not in the red, white and blue colour scheme either!
Quoting Mithryl Altaire You're probably getting suggestions from every quarter right now, however if you want another gundam that would not be a huge departure from this one in terms of appearance, then I would take a look at the nu Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack. Its a very popular design that not many people have rendered in lego.

I looked at pictures of models and watched some of the early episodes of MS Z Gundam which I have to say so far are pretty cool!
Quoting Mithryl Altaire The man has done his homework, obviously. I'm curious: which version of the RX-178 did you base your model off of? For example: the original anime artwork, or the model kit, or the action figure? There's a lot of different versions of the Mk II out there and they all have slight variations in their design. Usually I like to go with the Master Grade or the Perfect Grade of the model kit because they have the most details and features and are usually very nicely proportioned, but not always.

Already familiar with Gundam wiki
Quoting Mithryl Altaire A great improvement over your first gundam in just about every area! I agree with Thomas Z's comments, however, I would recommend gundam wiki as your source over mahq. I find it is a bit more user friendly and has better pictures and more information than mahq.

Thanks!
Quoting Thomas Z. Oops! I meant that the upper torso (the black area) should be 1 stud shorter from the sides. There are very few mobile suit designs that have wider upper body then the skirt armor and hips. I think it would help further improving this already very nice design. Oh btw, here's a good website with all the technical and other information about all mobile suits from every gundam series, games and such. http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/index.htm Hope this'll help your research on Gundam!

Have u seen the megablocks / bandai Gundams - this is much better than what they offered in bricks. Its a shame they don't use some of us hobby builders designs they'd sell a lot more!
Quoting Marc dZ AAaaaaah!! I want the same one!!!!! OMG, it looks like coming directly from Bandai inc. There is no better comment.

Or so you mean the waist (midesection)should be wider? I played with he size of the waist but a smaller waist made the skirts pop!
Quoting Thomas Z. You nailed it again! This is one of my favorite Gundams especially in this color scheme. My only two, and really minor problem with this model would be that the backpack originally has two binders that the sabers are attached to, and the upper body should be 1 stu shorter on the sides(copared to the rest of the body, it just looks a bit big). But despite these it's almost a perfect copy of the real thing, and that's cool! I can't wait to see your next creation!(I seriously need to put up my own new mobile suits now xd..) Great job yet again!
