Brickmagic 2012 Recap: Saturday
I went to Brickmagic 2012 this past Saturday, and boy did I have fun! I met some new people, got to see some wonderful things, and even was almost killed by Darth Vader. Let's go see.
About this creation

On Friday, May 18, 2012. I left my house after school and made the three hour drive to Raleigh, North Carolina for the Brickmagic 2012 Lego Convention. I got to the hotel room at about 9:00 with my mother, and we checked in and awaited a day full of surprises......

On Saturday morning we got up and got ready for Brickmagic. I was supposed to meet some people, and I did that.

Homies

First thing I did was meet some friends. I got to meet some nice people, including Ru Corder, Annie Corder, Danny Holland, Brickguy, Cyborg, and a few others.

This pic has me on the left, Ru in the middle, and Grant/Brickguy on the right. Me and Grant had fun together. :)

Ru Strikes Again!

We had some fun there. I really got to see how much of an idiot clown that Ru is. In this pic that I took, it was quite funny. Boba Fett was walking by, and Ru jumped over the display table and hugged Boba from behind. Apparently he rode with Darth Vader, Darth Maul, and a Stormtrooper in an elevator as well......

He Found My Lack Of Faith Disturbing.....

I had some fun as well. I wore a shirt that said "Vader is coming! (look busy)" on it, and I got a lot of comments on it. The Stormies loved it, even Vader said he liked it (after he force choked me), huge LOL.

Joint Castle Diorama

Danny, Chris Stone, Ru, Annie, and a few others built this magnificient build. Pics don't do it justice.

Now for some random pics of the various builds:

This is the amazing Death Star on Saturday, right as the convention started.

There were Bionicles....

And mocs from the Portal games.....

Even a giant ball sorter. I took this pic for Spongebob and the Nyan Cat.

Then there was the giant, moving moc.

This video was taken so that people could see the movement of this Viking longship in action. Bill and Vera Anjo brought this giant dio all the way from Canada to show everyone their magnificient creation. It depicts monks on a small island readying themselves for a Viking attack. The dio was huge, pics and videos don't do it justice. Magnets made figs move, the ship was automated, etc. Every little detail was there. I want to share this work of art with you guys.

Closer shots of the build...

There even was a moc (built by the Anjo's) that was a Mindstorm's computer built to look like a medieval monk. Amazing!

There were various city layouts, this one had a moving monorail.

There were some amazing Technic cars....

Classic Space inspired spacecraft....

And a giant Technic plane. The propellor spun on this thing!

There was a Blacktron-like moon base...

And an amazingly detailed Japanese homestead.

There were trains...

And giant castles....

Even David Hall/Legoboy Productions from Flickr and YT was there.

Clone Troopers by Legoboy Productions

There was a giant beach setup...

Another city...

And a HUGE town layout made by the PennLUG group. This thing was monstrous!

There was a famous Trench Run depicted....

And there was even a custom Republic Gunship too.

They even had original System blocks and wooden toys on display that LEGO had once made.

Jared Burks (a.k.a. Fine Clonier) was there. His booth took up A LOT of the convention space. He had various figs in his cases...

This cases had the TMNT's in it.

Jared had built some lightcycles from TRON....

And even made some Doctor Who figures.

Even a few Tardis' were built.

And then there was Blake.

I had so much fun this weekend, and got tons of loot too! I took it out and sorted it before I could get a pic......

Comment if you want, rate as well!
