I wanted to share what I did with my LEGO CALENDAR. First I added more colors on the sides and gave it a yellow base and a large birthday candle (that always stays lit) every month there is a table with a lit birthday candle (after all we have 365 birthdays (366 in leap year) so every day is someone's birthday. I altered the
top a bit and am adding monthly color plates. Now for the big one - each month has it's own minifigures to represent each month, some I designed, some are from the collectibles and others from the City Mini Figures Box! The artist stays (It represents ME!) and the Guy with the Balloon stays, he helps to celebrate everyone's birthday! Cupid for February will soon be added! I hope you'll get ideas of what to do with your calendar from these!
About this creation
For one year I will honor, remember and respect the victims of 9-11. Each of my creations will have a 9-11 memorial starting off the page. I'd like to give a big handshake, hug, kiss to all the people here on MOCpages that remembered by creating WORLD TRADE CENTER buildings done in LEGO you too honor the fallen of 9-11 GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU!
Well what a better way to start this then with the month of JANUARY!
And even a better way when it's REVISED to include Martin Luther King Day and a better winter scene!
The fireplace is burning to beat the winter cold!
The snowman is outside holding his broom and hoping not to melt!
And a kid is ready to throw his snowball and has more snowballs lined up in this REVISION!
The Christmas tree decoration has been taken indoors and put away!
Dr. Martin Luther King giving his famous: "I HAVE A DREAM..." speech is seen in this REVISION!
The month of FEBRUARY gives us VALENTINE'S DAY!
FEBRUARY still gives us VALENTINE'S DAY but now this REVISION includes PRESIDENT'S DAY...and is that CUPID I see?
A box of chocolates waits by the living room fence!
...and a guy gives his gal a bouquet of roses!
(NOTE: I will be adding Cupid and both President's Linclon and Washington)
Same guy with a change of wardrobe (I needed his suit for Dr. Martin Luther King) and the same girl gets the same roses!
I did see CUPID and he's aiming his arrow straight at the loving couple!
And as promised the two presidents of PRESIDENT'S DAY - George Washington in his military garb and Abraham Linclon in his famous stove top hat!
MARCH is Saint Patrick's Day so I reflected it!
The Rainow has led us to a field of 4 leaf clovers and a "pot'o'gold"!
...and a Leprechaun holding a four leaf clover. (Good use for the collectible minis!)
APRIL is usually the month of EASTER so I used the secular symbols of Easter...
...a rabbit in her hutch (a MOD of the FRIENDS set's rabbit hutch)...
...and the EASTER BUNNY gathering the colorful Easter Eggs! (NOTE: I use the white Mime's face instead of the yellow one!)
I will be including a mini with an umbrella to represent the old maxim: APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS!
As promised my mini in blue holds her umbrella to ward away the showers ... she's kind enough to cover the Balloon Man!
Then we have the busy month of MAY...
...in the United States we celebrate MEMORIAL DAY a day set aside to honor those lost a war. Here a WAC a NAVY MAN and a SOLDIER pay homage with a grand salute. I will be doing a better flag!
Then we have MOTHER'S DAY a kid mini is handing his mom her present!
And just how can we forget the 5th of May the Hispanic celebration of CINCO DE MAYO! I designed a Mexican Maracas Player!
Next we have another busy month - JUNE!
Since the maxim continues: AND MAY FLOWERS BRING JUNE BRIDES we have a bride and groom. Both are my design.
Then we have FATHER'S DAY and again the Lego mini kid gives his father presents (I forgot to add a fishing pole as well stay tuned...)
Thank you for staying tuned --- the kid now has a fishing pole to give his father as well, think his father will take him fishing?
In the UNITED STATES on June 14th we celebrate: FLAG DAY (actually the flags of the states fly).
...and GRADUATION DAY the collectibles rise again!
Now we finally come to my favorite month - JULY - why JULY? July is my birthday month, finally the cake on the table is lit for me!
A surfer is ready to celebrate the summer!
...And the "4th of July"!!!
And a woman in her bathing suit welcomes the summer!
Finally the BIRTHDAY BOY me!
AUGUST finally gives us a rest from holidays...
so the surfer is still hanging out and the girl is still waving her flag!
...she got tired of waving her flag and needed an ice pop to cool off with and since they've been standing around all day - they got the bar-b-que ready!
In SEPTEMBER in the UNITED STATES we celebrate: LABOR DAY.
We honor our labor force and here we have a porter and a teacher...
...and here a construction worker, a stewardess and a fireman (I think he's trying to put out the candle). I will be adding a police officer as well!
And I said I'd be adding a police officer in this REVISION ... well here he is!
B O O! we now have OCTOBER Halloween's month!
Not everyone dresses as a monster some dress as a clown and others a ghost...
...some do dress as monsters and some as TRICK OR TREAT cheerleaders and something tells me that's not a skeleton costume...what do you think?
NOVEMBER is a warm holiday in the UNTITED STATES it's the month of...
THANKSGIVING when the Pilgrims and the Native Americans celebrated peace here a Pilgrim toasts a native and they are getting ready to have some turkey!
And the drummer represents a marcher in the MACY*S Thanksgiving Day Parade!
Our final month of DECEMBER shows up!
With Saint Nicholas, San Nicolas, Pere Noel, Sinter Klaus, Santo Nicola a.k.a SANTA CLAUS delivering his Christmas Presents (here too I went for the secular).
...and his elf waving his magic wand to spread the Christmas Cheer!!! Ho,ho,ho MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!***********
(NOTE: I will be adding a Menorah to celebrate Chanukah)
I gathered all the monthly mini-figures to come together and ROCK AROUND THE CALENDAR! They had a great time meeting one another! So I hope you enjoyed meeting them! and if you are lucky enough to have a LEGO CALENDAR I hope I inspired you!
and here we have the painter who represents me!
...and the balloon holder who celebrates all our birthdays from January 1st to December 31st!
Quoting General Grayfox5
Nice job! Could you put me on the Calender in December? It's the month of my Birthday. :P
But, I love the idea! Some of the pictures were blurry, and some were dark. that was the down side.....
I'll agree some were a tad blurry --- but---dark???
