About this creation
Here we have a photo of all my British Bird Series builds I posted recently together.
I would like to thank everybody for your kind words and support for these Birds, I am astounded with the popularity of them.
I was very happy to wake up one morning with over one hundred emails worth of comments and messages and wondered how they had become so popular. With thanks to blogs from the popular LEGO blogs "The Living Brick" and "The Brothers Brick" these creations have gone viral. So far I've found 7 Blogs that have featured my British Bird Series :-)
Just this morning I received an email from a Brazilian magazine called GLOSS saying they would like to publish some pictures in their magazine. Just after that I received another message from a British news agency saying they would like to write up a story about these Birds and how they were created, which they will forward on to all the major Newspapers in the country, this means I will be visited by a reporter and a photographer and have a very good chance of appearing in some nation wide news publications. Amazing news hey?!
I am seriously chuffed that so many people like them as much as I do and am also very grateful to all that have taken the time to comment and rate them.
Because these have become so popular I have decided to start a new series and will be taking requests for future builds.
Also due to the great response and from advice I have received I have decided to upload them to Cuusoo, which means there is a possiblitly LEGO could actually make an official set from them.
So here is a bit of shameless self promotion.
Please follow the link and support this project to help these birds take off. Anybody already on Cuusoo that supports this will receive support from me in return if you leave a comment and a link to your project.
Cuusoo
I only added the project this morning and it already has nearly 50 supporters so there's only another 9550 to go until these beautiful birds are reviewed by The Lego Company and possibly made into an official set.
Again, many thanks to all who have supported so far.
And keep your eyes peeled for future builds of our feathered friends.
Tom

All these charming little birds are superb. I'd never considered the possibilities for making animals out of Lego before I'd come across a few others recently on this site, but these are the most realistic i have seen yet, especially considering their small size. A wonderfully quirky break from the Techie stuff I normally browse. Thanks Daniel! Give lego nature a try the possibilities are endless. I'm certainly enjoying this break from building things with wheels.

Lol, an ad for "Angry Birds" has popped up next to the comment box. =P I can believe these have gotten so popular, they're unique, fun, and for once they don't go from 0-60 or shoot 1000 rounds a second. They're just simple, well made pieces of properly brilliant artwork. Bravo! I still like that puffin, and the goldfinch. Thank you Chilla, your support is always appreciated :-)

Each bird is better than the last! So, the British series is over? Getting featured on so many blogs is quite an achievement, not to mention the magazine asking to feature your birds. Interestingly my brother has been invited to some kind of Bristol BBC talk show to talk about his Bristol Fighter. It was kind of odd, don't you think? I'm looking forward to seeing more cute 'n beautiful birdies from you! BTW, I supported this on CUUSOO. :) -LB Jr. Thanks LB! I hope they keep improving! There are some British Birds I would have like to have built that are not in the series....yet. I thought I'd get the project up and rolling whilst I have all this publicity. My next bird is a Barn Owl which I am going to start tonight, just got myself a nice new shiny BL order through for it.
Yes that is interesting about your brothers Bristol Fighter. It's a shame you guys are not more local lol
I noticed your support, thank you as always LB jr :-) |

It would be great to have them at Bristol Zoo. I lived in Bristol for some years and still regularly visit - when we come we often take the kids to the Zoo, your Lego birds would be an incentive to do this again. Oh that's great! I'll be sure to let you know if they are. I think there might be a good chance, especially if I get in the paper.

Seeing theses together only confirms what a great sequence of builds these are. Any plans to display them? Hi David Thank you very much! I would love to display them but have not arranged anything yet. I plan to contact our local Zoo (Bristol Zoo) to see if they would exhibit them there. I am also about to join Brickish (UKs Lego User Group) to enquire as to whether I can display them, along with a lot of my other creations at one of there shows. Thank you for your continued support, it's very much appreciated :-)
