About this creation
This is Metal Gear REX, the nuclear-equipped walking battle tank, or mech, from the Playstation game Metal Gear Solid (or the GameCube game, Metal Gear Solid - The Twin Snakes).
This and my Metal Gear RAY model both received official recognition (of a sort) from KCEJ (Konami Computer Entertainment Japan)! Go to my Metal Gear RAY page to read about it.
The images here do not appear in the correct order to play out the MGS fight like I had intended. To see them in the correct order, pay a visit to my personal website, where you can view ALL of my LEGO customs and more:

It's lucky for Snake that Ninja arrives when he does. This shot sums up the coolest customs I made from MGS, but it never happens in the game.

With Liquid exposed and the radar dish destroyed, Snake doesn't have too much trouble finishing off Metal Gear...

The destruction of his radar dish forces Liquid to open REX's "mouth" so that he can see. Metal Gear REX has no windshield, so without a targeting dish he must use his naked eyes to spot Snake.

"Snake... We are not tools of the government, or anyone else." - Gray Fox (Ninja)
Liquid smashes Ninja against a wall. Ninja tells Snake to open fire and kill them both, but Snake can't do it (even if you hit the appropriate button). Ninja succeeds in blowing REX's radar dish off before he is crushed by Liquid under Metal Gear's massive foot.

"Tell her that... I was the one who did it!" - Gray Fox (Ninja)
Luckily for Snake, Ninja arrives. After confessing that he was the one who killed Naomi's parents, he sacrifices himself to aid Snake in the battle. He uses his gun-arm to blow the radar dish off of Metal Gear REX, effectively blinding Liquid Snake, because the vehicle has no windshield.

"...a nuclear-equipped walking battle tank!" - DARPA Chief Donald Anderson
"Metal Gear!?" - Solid Snake
Snake has been fighting the construction of Metal Gear units for a long time now. He destroyed the original Metal Gear, which was also a nuclear-equipped war vehicle that could fire a nuke from anywhere on the planet. Snake first learns that a Metal Gear is stored in the Shadow Moses facility when he "rescues" the DARPA Chief, Donald Anderson, who later turns out to be Decoy Octopus in disguise.

"What? Metal Gear is one of the most top-secret Black Projects! How did you know that?" - Donald Anderson (DARPA Chief)
"We've had a few run-ins in the past..." - Snake
Snake first encounters the actual Metal Gear REX in its storage facility. He must climb the catwalks all around it to reach the top and confront Liquid and Ocelot.

"I'll crush you into dust!" - Liquid Snake
Snake must later confront the fully-operational Metal Gear REX with Liquid in the pilot seat, and he almost can't handle it.

"At this height, it would kill even you!" - Liquid
Unfortunately, Liquid Snake still lives. He drags the unconscious Solid Snake onto the head of the destroyed metal beast along with an unconscious (or dead, depending on whether or not you beat Ocelot's torture) Meryl and a bomb.

"Have at you, Snake!" - Liquid
Snake must beat Liquid up until he finally is forced to fall of the side of REX, and into darkness. Then Snake rushes to Meryl's aid. She is either dead or alive, depending on how well you did in Ocelot's torture sessions. So you either make your escape with her or with Otacon, one of the scientists at Shadow Moses who helped design Metal Gear REX. But is Liquid really done for? Play the game and find out!

If it isn't that outstanding, then why was it in a magazine. This is by far one of the greatest MGRex Moc's I've seen. |
At least the colors are okay, but it's really not very outstanding. |
