Unimog Trial Truck U5000
hello there, thanks for looking! This is my trial truck! At first i didnt plan on building a unimog, but then it just kinda took shape. It uses two medium motors for drive, 1m motor for steering. i dont have any XL motors. please tell me what you think, and yes i know some of the pictures look a little funky. This is probly not my best moc :( This is the first of probly 2 or 3 other versions once i get the XL motors.Ill try to make the other trucks way better than this. If you plan on building a trial truck i would recommend you check out this website here

Quoting Chris Melby Not arguing with the builder of course, but I disagree on needing bigger tires. I think it looks perfect, most trail trucks have large tires, but not monster tires for that all around universal ability. Again, a great build Jon, but I have to ask one thing, is it trail, or trial? In my neck of the woods, people call it trail. Chris
well, im not sure! the websites i looked on it says trial, truck. but i dont know anything :

Quoting Mason McKechnie This is so awesome, I am amazed at how you used 2 m motors for drive. for my prototype (long gone) I used 2 xl motors and it acted like it needed 3.
Thanks mason! ya the m motors acted like they just needed a little more poop behind them!

Thx for the comment on my truck trial, you should see my "Failure, snif, snif...' to already see progress on the engeneering. As for your model : I like it very much! compact, strong, good looks, and as it seems : extremely good engeneering. the rubber bands do add to the technical part, I'm glad somebody dares to use them (if good use, as in your build, off course). Thanks for mentioning your new build, as I am little commenting these days, so busy these days. Very very good work, Jon!!!

2 XL motors? Sweet! You'll be surprised how much more torque they have compared to the m motors. I have to say, the variable speed remote is awesome. I usually use it for steering, and stuff I need to move really slow. Can't wait to see your upgrades for this truck.

Cool! Looks very strong to be able to climb such a steep ramp. Too bad it gets stuck later on! Great work on the functionality and suspension and also the overall shape. I am assuming you will be working on some of the details along with the engine parts in the later versions though? Apart from the mercedes logo, the front end does look somewhat unfinished :-)

Quoting George Staples Jon, what a incredible truck. The fact that you used only m motors makes it even better. It looks like it will climb pretty good too. Had to laugh at the video a little. When the books slipped out and the sheet got caught around the wheel. Looks like a proper trial truck. 5/5 Can't wait to see the later versions.
Haha thanks George! Ya, the video was pretty ruff with me having to catch or tweak something every second! Thanks for the comment! By the way I just orderd 2 Xl motors and one of this spin dial remote things for my next version.

Quoting Fritz K OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!! This is an impossibly accurate and sleek build, Jon! I love all of the details, and the truck in real life is a beauty too. Also, great job with your photography, I can see it's improving such as the GIMPed in Mercedes sign and the white background. Nevertheless, you've really blown my mind with this one Jon, I wish I could build such stunning models. 5/5 FOR SURE!!! :-)
Thanks so much fritz! Oh, you can build build way better than I can!
