Entry for Round 1 of the Out-Of-Your-Comfort-Zone
With the category of ‘dark fantasy’, I immediately went, ‘oh-no’. But after thinking about it, I could put a slightly humorous twist on this MOC. If you follow me, you’ll know I like humour in MOCs, and have done so numerous times. SO, with this entry, I followed up on the Hollywood style of ‘big guys, small brains.’ I nick-named this giant ‘The Triceratops’, as that’s exactly what he reminds me of :)
About this creation

In the MOC, I express darkness, or evil/death, where everything dies, taking over light, or good/life, where everything lives. I see this as a real problem in life, not just in this fantasy MOC.

if you were wondering what it was, the 'good' guy has a custom halo :)

I hope you all enjoyed!

Good luck to the other contestants!

Sorry for the bad photos- I didn't get time to edit them :3

Thanks to Riccardo Z. fro the great inspiration for the main character!

God bless you all!

Tim

Quoting andros tempest I originally didn't rate this moc very highly as to be honest I strongly disapprove of "custom" pieces. But the overall effect is actually quite clever, and the big guy is effective, if somewhat limited in the posing department. I've still only rated it good because of the number of "illegal" techniques in play. but the overall effect works.
thanks for the comment, but there is some misunderstanding over the halo. the halo is a trans tire piece, and an official one. I am a purist, and don't modify pieces. I like 'illegal' techniques- they make it so much better :)

Quoting Imagine Rigney I didn't say you had decals. I said I didn't mind custom decals in general. At first glance I thought the halo was a transparent tire, but you identified the halo as a "custom" halo, so I assumed you were using a modified element. Sorry for the confusion. Score is still 4.
lol, no, it IS a trans tire. I was meaning it was a new, or 'custom' use for it :) it is an official piece, and I did nothing to it.

Quoting Imagine Rigney Score = 4. All the details on the Triceratops figure: hands, claw feet, head, cape etc.. all well done. The base is nice. Would liked to have seen the plants and other items attached to the base instead of just sitting on it, especially since you put so much work into the color gradations. Not crazy about the custom halo thing. Would have been fine without it and I think the message still would have gotten across. I'm not crazy about custom elements though -decals excluded. Good job.
thanks for the score, but there are no decals here... no custom element- its all purist. If you're talking about the halo, that is from the largest basketball set.

Quoting MortalSwordsman . I love the 'triceratops' bad guy, especially his head. Great use of the cape. He is scary and hilarious at the same time :D. I like the transition idea - from life to death or good to bad.
thanks, bro :) I accidentally bought the cape off BL, thinking it was minifigure scale ;) I FINALLY found a use for it! :D
