Aurelius, Centurion of Rapa-Nui
2012 Periodic Bionicle Contest....Round 2....Toa of Fluorine....
About this creation
EDIT: Thanks to everyone who made it possible for this build to be a nominee in the 2012 Mocie Awards!

The Periodic Bionicle Contest 2012 group.
Mudslide's entry .

Aurelius' past isn't known. Some say that Mata Nui himself created him, while others say he is the living reincarnation of Takanuva. Either way, this Centurion is a powerful being, and won't hesitate to finish off his opponent.

He prefers not to use his elemental powers in a fight. He is too proud of a warrior, who has been in hundreds, if not thousands, of Gladiator matches in the Colisseum. He fights with his heart and his strength, not his powers or cunning. He has a superior mind, allowing him to always get the upper hand. Aurelius especially loves it when an opponent underestimates him......

He has become a legend in his own right. All that have challenged him have been defeated or perished. Blood has been shed on hundreds of Aurelius' opponents. He will not give mercy unless you fight for your life using every skill you have. Aurelius is the warrior, the toa who fights not for glory, but for his own pride.

Name: Aurelius
Species: Matoran
Element: Fluorine
Occupation: Warrior, Toa
Powers: Fluorine control
Mask: (Kanohi) Avohkii, mask of light
Status: Alive
Weapons/Tools: Javelin and shield

TO THE MOC!

Aurelius in all his glory!

Front view.

Left side view.

Back view.

Back view (cape up).

Right side.

Lower body close-up.

Legs close-up.

Upper body close-up. The minifig arms are meant to represent a connection spot for the cape.

The Avohkii. I only have one yellow mask (Meltdown), and this one would just have to work.

Custom head. Yes, my first one! I like this design, it's very simple.

Another pose, this time with weapons drawn and ready.

Another pose with the weapons.

Now here is a pose with Aurelius banging his spear against his shield. Inspired by 300, what a surprise.....

Weapons.

Aurelius and Galvis, the 2 favorite mocs I have built.

FOURTH WALL: This build started very easily, and I am glad I got it posted in time. Inspired by a Roman Centurion, Aurelius really is a test of my Bio-Skills. I think I did fairly well. The cape is an old t-shirt I cut apart, I made it yesterday.

Good luck Mudslide, may the best moccer win!

Comments and constructive criticism appreciated. KP OUT!

Quoting Legofreak2444 ~ Hey, did you know Rapa-Nui is a real place? :P
Yeah, that's what I named my storyline after. Where have you been man? It's been like that for a year and a half! :P

This is really nice. I like how you used tiles and tires to fill in the gaps. He looks heavy and compact. The weapons add a lot as well. Great job.

Quoting MortalSwordsman . A great build. Good mix of technic and bio. I really like his physique and hands. A good main photo too. Fair comment in the 'help group'. I am not a big fan of Bioncle but I can recognise a good moc when I see it.
Thanks, totally understandable too.
Quoting DeTomaso Pantera Hey Kyle! I meant to comment on this the other day as I thought he looked great! The whole body flows really nicely and he looks like he means business. I really like your incoporation of technic/system especially his shield. This guy would stand out in a Bio crowd ;-) I'm probably going to be Mr. unpopular after my comment in MOChelp but hey, everyones entitled to an opinion right? ;-)
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, just some are taken more literally than others. I find it hard to find good builders, but some just have more talent than others. I for one probably have SOME skill, seeing that my parts aren't very numerous. LOL ;)

Epic. The Gold mask worked out well I think,You should have had more though. The Cape is neat and that Custom head looks alot like mine....Nice work,The Chain hair and Black rahkshi head give him a "Legend" look. Some flourescent Green would've been cool.Good luck. He reminds me of a mix between Iron Man's Silver Centurion Armor and Count Dooku.

Nice work, I still think the body is a bit too barrel-chested. It might be a challenge, but replacing that HF armor on the stomach with something that doesn't go past the chest will slim your torso design down and make your Toa look a bit more proportional.

Quoting Lego Obsessionist You like that torso design, don't you? Fantastic build, best of luck to you. I love the system bits and smooth armor. The border stripe on the shield is a nice touch.
Yes, I do love that torso. Only design I have made that works well with a hockey chestplate. :)
