This is a fly-shaped LEGO mech (if you can call it that) that is part of my Anti-Insectoid customs collection.
About this creation
The Story (created by myself):
In the years following the Great Civil War between the Unitron Empire and the Explorien Frontier, Earth and its conquered planets were left open for attack by forces from outside their galaxy. These forces came in the form of the UFOs. Using advanced technology, not to mention the bizarre biology of their species, which gave some telekinetic abilities and some the ability to shape-shift, the UFO forces almost wiped out the human race. Unfortunately for the leader of the UFO forces, Emperor Zegaldorph, their old enemies, the Insectoids, had followed them. In the great three-sided war that followed, many Insectoids, Extraterrestrials, and humans died. In the end, thanks to the heroics of the remaining Exploriens and Unitrons, the UFOs were forced to retreat. But, their forces being far less depleted, the Insectoids stayed behind... and began attacking Earth in the place of the UFOs. In desperation, Rick, leader of the Unitrons, formed an elite corps of fighters to defend Earth against the Insectoids... the Anti-Insectoids.
Pilot: ZX3-TR80R
Capacity: 1 person
Armaments: 1 Proton Torpedo, 2 Machine Guns
Top Cruising Speed: 300 mph
Extra Information: The AAV-AI4 Fly is by FAR the fastest of all the Anti-Insectoid vehicles. It is totally ineffective on land, and, in fact, can not even move while landed due to its stiff legs designed only for grasping. It's pilot, the reprogrammed UFO android ZX3-TR80R, with his extremely fast and accurately computing brain and vision, is really the only pilot who can fly the insanely fast vehicle with its open cockpit. He enjoys coming up behind small Insectoid vehicles and using the Fly's legs to pull the pilot right out of his seat. He can also use the legs to grab Insectoid power cores. His light armaments do not do much damage, but the machineguns can kill infantry, and the Proton Torpedoes can shoot down fighters... given enough time, ammunition, and expertise...

As you can see, the Fly's legs were designed for grasping instead of walking. After TR8OR grabs a captive, he can either bring them back to base as a prisoner of war, or drop them on the nearest hard object while hovering from a very high altitude. He can also carry and drop large bombs in this fashion.

Here is a thing rarely seen by an Insectoid... the fly from a front view. When an enemy Insectoid pilot sees this, it's just a blur!

Here you can see the extra boosters of the fly, on either side of the cockpit, which give the vehicle extra speed... as if it needed any...

This thing is really good. It looks like a fly, and has great color patterns. I don't know why more people haven't commented; the anti-insectoids are cool! |

The front window doesn't look too elegant, and I'm not so fond of the backstory (actually, I think these models would have made great (true) Insectoids models), but the fly shape is well-done. |

Its funny how something like this can get a perfect rating when your very own customized skipray blastboat only sports a rating of a 3.5. Personally, I think the Skipray is pretty good, but I guess its just me.... I mean.... Maybe I'm just blind and this is the best moc ever. Oh well.....whatever. I bow down to your supremecy, Oh Great Saber-Scorpion. |
