Floating Boats

Now with real floating action! Sure the front rides a bit low, but the guys in back are completely dry! Really more of a proof-of-concept, but I intend to prefect this idea later on.
About this creation

After getting my idea for floating a boat (or anything, really), I quickly purchased a dry dock and got to work.

I built my boats based on the design from The Lego Ideas Book, but don't think I copied. I looked at it once and then put it back on the shelf to design my own. And does Lego's version float, NOooooOOOoooo~(Idk either...)

Narhwal's Ocean Runner

The boring side, livened up with two-tone paint and 30' spinners. Oh wait, not a car... where my list of "not-car" commentary... *rummaging* Ah, here it is!

Yar me hearties! This here be the finest in Chinchilla boating technology!

Aye, that tis my actually 'siggy' ye see there, but no mortal dare look into his eyes! (No really, lots of people have looked, just not on a dare or anything)

Some boatly communication stuff.

Tug of War

Pretty much the same boat, but smaller and older. It has been rebuilt a few times due to... poor floating performance.

Different communication stuffs.

Beaver hats! And some trophies, undoubtedly for his beaver hat. Not like they'd be for fishing or anything like that.

And here's Captain Beardy of the Tug of War... how inspiring?

And here, ladies and gentleman, hangs the secret to the floating magic. While I doubt I am the 1st to discover this, I don't care, I'm still posting this MOC. These buoyant tires are enough to float a ship!
Audience: "Those 3 tires lift the whole thing? You're out of your mind!"
Me: "Not these 3, you who is not knowledged in the ways of science, the ones stuffed in the hull!"

And of course, as the say, the proof is in the pudding. I don't know WHY they say that, makes no sense.

*Insert relaxing beach sounds followed by a swarm of seagulls eating your food and drink*

Glub glub?

Thanks much for your views! Hope you enjoyed!

Nice proof of concept, the boats themselves are pretty, too. I've always wanted to make an actual floating lego boat (without a pre-made hull), but you are one of the first to actually do it. Great job!

Very nice! I'm not sure I would trust them enough to ride on them myself, but they are technically floating...haha, nice idea!

Cool! Interesting idea with the tires, I guess that saves you from water-proofing the whole thing. Great work!

Cool design and great floating "function". I'd try to put a "water bomb" balloon or something similar filled with air inside the hull. Bubble wrap could work well, too. That would not be 100% "purist" but could create a lot of uplift. Anyway, the idea is cool and the boat, too. Great job!

The boats look way cool! Maybe a little ballast, and your right where you want to be! Very cool, wish there were more boat builders on the MOC's! 5/5

Quoting DeTomaso Pantera I have an idea for you, instead of using tyres why not try one or two of those Tiny turbo or creator tubs?
Because I'd not thought of that yet... I'll have to try that on the next one, it should be big enough to fit in the Creator tub I've got.

Haha brilliant! Again you make me laugh out loud. And Mortal lol Nice Beaver hat. I have an idea for you, instead of using tyres why not try one or two of those Tiny turbo or creator tubs? I think they'll hold more air than a tyre or two. Back to the boats that float, they look great, the white/orange one is my favourite, but I love the Tug of War name. I like the safety rail. Great job Chilla and I agree, is there anything you can't build?

The boats are looking great. Just a bit sad to see that they almost sink but I'm sure you'll find a solution for it.

The boats look good. I like the colors, as for the floating.. I hope your ships don't meet a storm, thats some precarious floating. Cool concept tho.
