2012 Periodic Bionicle Contest

Common Name: Iron Bat
Matoran Nickname: "Swift Flyer"
Element: Iron (Fe)
Environment: The iron-rich caves and cliffs of Fe-Rapa
Main Colors: Gunmetal and silver
Traits: One large horn on the head to dig iron out of the ground, and distinct coloring
Weaknesses: Blindness, it's hearing and sense of smell make up for it.

Here is the Iron Bat in flight. They don't have wings, but in order to get somewhere they will climb to a high area and will jump and glide/ride thermals.

Top of torso close-up. The Fire Lord mask works right here!

Bottom of torso close-up. The dark bley Hau was used to give the rahi a type of shape. The orange piece is a Krana, or in oher words, it's internals.

Galvis got upgrades!

The gunmetal lower arm armor is now blue.

The back leg armor is now redesigned.

He has hair! A Surge 1.0 mask fit PERFECTLY on a Mata head.

Metrex (my secondary self-moc) got updates as well.

Front view. As you can see, he has gotten a COMPLETE redesign .

Back view. Complete torso redesign as well.

Well, I'm back with bio-building! I have a Castle dio I'm finishing now, and am trying to get back into building more frequently.

This build is 50 pieces.

Very cool! I like the use of the Fire Villain chest pieces for eyes! But from the side, the torso looks very hollow. The Kraana looks out of place, but i guess that's intentional. other than that, a nice entry, can't wait for more :)

Well photographed. Very detailed. I was glad when I read that the animal was technically flightless, because I had been thinking: Where are his wings? It seems like a very tight little build. Attack!

Cool kyle! But I am not really seeing the "Bat" look. But it still looks really cool though! Galvis is looking great but he still seems a bit fat. 4/5

Looks cool, although from the side there are some noticable gaps. Given the parts limet, though, it would be hard to fix that. The upgrades are fantastic!

It's okay, I think the masks make the shape weird. But those updates on Galvis and Metex... oh man! They look so much awesomer, I'm loving every single update! (Although I still think Galvis should go back to the hockey head, the mata head sticks out weird and doesn't really fit being trans-blue IMO.)
