The Sea of Protodermis is a chaotic, lawless place - Just the way Hcaet Drawde likes it.
About this creation
Name:Hcaet Drawde (Huh-kay-et Drow-duh (?)) Gender: Male Race/Species: Unknown Occupation: Pirate, Smuggler, Mercenary Title(s): Brother Prevailing Element: Iron [Stone] Alignment: Chaotic Good Affiliation: The Brothers in Arms Typical Tool(s): Hook, Barbed Sword, Pegleg, Air Tank, Mask of Accuracy, Zamor Handgonne MOC Status: Sacrificied to Project MATRIARCH
Hcaet Drawde is a member of the Brothers in Arms, a rather motley crew of mercenaries that cruise around the Matoran Universe doing "Toa stuff". They are based in a dockside stronghold on Xia, but of course their main hideout is Hcaet's ship. Its members include three matoran (Toa, Hordika and Matoran), a makuta and a member of Keetongu's species. Nobody is quite sure what Hcaet is. Not even him.
Originally hailing from the Southern Islands, Hcaet carved out a living as captain of one of the deadliest ships known to the Matoran Universe. He lost two limbs to a dragon rahi on one adventure, which he later killed with his bare hands. Each monstrous face carved into his armour has a long and violent story behind it.
In person, if he likes you, his ways are slightly odd and his accent strange and foreign. Hcaet likes nothing more than a cask of "Toxic Rum" (The mutagen adds flavour!), piles of plundered loot and an admiring Ga-matoran or six to keep him company in whatever inn he happens to be occupying.
In battle, he is a terrifying sight. Despite his bulky, ponderous look and his reliance on his protheses, he moves quickly and accurately. He uses his pegleg as a weapon, but far more dangerous is his gonne, which has been known to blow holes in ships' hulls!
Hcaet Drawde is a character belonging to John the Imaginative, who sprung from a very short-lived Roleplay based in the Matoran Universe back in the BRC. The main reason I built Hcaet now is because over Christmas he bought me a Gold Membership for my favourite game; Champions Online. I built Hcaet as a sort of thank-you. He was actually finished in January, but I ended up sort of abandoning MOCpages to use my Gold account before the month's subscription ran out... and then I sort of forgot about this MOC. Sorry John! ^^;
Design-wise I incorporated a lot of Takanuva Mistika's parts, 'cause John loves them. I originally did have the upside-down Sanok as well, but I discovered Fire Lord's head looked a bit like it, with the bonus of having eye-holes. I tinkered around, and finally came up with a head design which not only puts eyes there, but also gave him an earring and a beard! XD The upper torso design is similar to that on Gringat and Varrix, but the lower torso is a new, experimental design which gives him a wider pelvis and a sort of samurai battle skirt. I'm really proud of how his chestplate ended up.
This is simply fantastic! I like how his armor looks somehow "broken" on the one side, and detailed work on the hook and the leg is really great! It's also amazing to see how many gunmetal parts you have! An overall excellent creation!
I'm not sure I get what you mean about the head, but I tend to stay away from system when I make my heads. Maybe there's the problem, but I've historically been more comfortable with technic.
Superb, Gringat. If it helps at all, I was able to discern the MOC's theme from the thumbnail before I ever got to read the flavortext, hear the score, or see detailed pics. That's pretty awesome in itself. GREAT upper bod, and love the "pegleg". Going into my Epic folder, asap! =)
HOW DID I MISS THIS?!? Well, it looks amazing! Loving how you made the right leg's Vahki piece so well covered you could only recognize it from the back! :D
ironic, how many of my favorite MOCists post their MOCs long after creation.(no offense, I have 0 MOCs so far!)
About the MOC, I really appreciate the amazing armor detail, and your MOCs are incredible!

For some reason, i'm not a big fan. I mean, it's nice, but looks strange. The pirate feel is good but.... I find the reg "fake" arm and leg just ruin it. I don't know. It is aesthetically amazing, but I'm just not feeling it. But to help you out and since I love all your other mocs and your cool, you still deserve a 5 over a 4. :)Don't get me wrong though, I love the Black arm, leg, and chest designs :D
Just for you, I'm going to make him some extra limbs so you can see him un-damaged. :)

Nice name, I see what you did there. :P Brilliant MOC, I love the contrast of his legs. :D One thing though, I don't quite like the look of the HF torso piece on his rear. I'm not sure what purpose it serves, but anyway, brilliant MOC. :D Cheers!
It's meant to form the back of a sort of battle-skirt/robe thing. Originally it was another HF generator piece like on the sides, but it got in the way of leg movement a lot.

Amazing! How did you do the head?
It's quite easy to make custom heads if you use technic parts sandwiched between two 1x2 plates. Leaves flexibility in what shape you need to fit inside the helmet and what attachments you want. There's no visible face if you remove the hat though.

Amazing! You've done it again Gringat, this MOC is phenomenal. The peg leg and prosthetic arm are excellent touches. There really aren't enough Bionicle pirate MOCs around.
AAAH! AUTOPLAY MUSIC! XD Okay, this has to be one of the best pirate themed MOCs out there! LOve the beard, the peg leg, the hook hand... all of it! Great work on this MOC, he's truly impressive!
Wow. The MoC. The story. Everything just fits O-o
If I could change something though, I'd make his pegleg a bit... Buffer. Or hide a gun in there too :P
