For decades, the answer to one question has illuded Humanity... "If Batman drove a hotrod, what would it look like?" That is the very question I endevoured to answer. Now I believe I might've found it with The Bat Rod.

About this creation

This moc started life as my '30 Ford Woody, then I stripped it back to chassis, firewall and engine and used that as the base for this one.From this angle you can see the parson's shelf I added to cover up the internal structure

Of course you can't just have any old doors on a Bat Rod. So I worked in some rearward-opening swan-wing doors.

To keep the car looking sinister inside and out, I used a dark grey on black interior, 'cause Batman doesn't ride in lolly-pink vinyl

I wanted to make this car appear as realistic as possible, so I added tail-lights and made the jet-nozzel at the back the exhaust pipe. I added a fan to it for show

With the severly chopped roof, ther's not a lot of room in rat-rods, I still tried to make this interior as detailed as I could. I found this nifty looking wheel for a steering wheel

If you look you'll see 2 bench seats inside. I wanted to put in some buckets but there would've been no room for the head-rests. And besides... Batman might want kids one day

This is my second moc to get velocity stacks, I usually through on muliple carburettors or a blower or two. But I do like the over-all look of the engine though

I used wing plates to give the grille cerrated edges

I know LDD has large bat wing peices but they're not the angle I wanted so I had to come up with my own bat wing design

Keeping with the realism thing, I put headlights and indicators on the front and an elevated wing-mirror on the A pillar

I think the profile of this car is quite good. I lowered the door handles because I think it would be easier to open this style of door with them there

I quite like the effect the moon-disc hubs have on the asthetics

Underneath... boring... moving on

Getting the cab the right shape was tough. I wanted a long wheelbase (think 1989 Batmobile) but there can't be any of the chassis showing in the rear or an exposed diff becasue of the jet-nozzel, I had to cover it up. Once I did I found I had a lot of space in the back so I added an extra bench seat, this worked because the large doors allow easy access to the rear seats
