Ferow, the Iron Beaked Bird
Here is my entry to the entry round of the Periodic Bionicle Contest. It scraped in with 57 pieces.
About this creation
The contest.

The Ferow is a small flying rahi living the in mountainous regions of Spherus Magna. It lives off the iron ores that are present in these mountains, using it to strengthen its beak, hence its name.

It reaches the iron ore by repeatedly hammering the earth above the ore with its strong, sharp beak.

Its long beak allows the Ferow to reach deeper ores. It also lives off small insects that reside in the mountains.

Oh, iron nuggets! Omnonom!

Soaring through the sky, like a vast, predatory bird...

"Under the hood," so to speak.

Ferow: Squawk! (Bye!)

Creator's Notes:
As mentioned before, it scraped in with the pieces count of 57. I actually had a hard time thinking what to build, and then looking at the Kopaka's ice blade I noticed it looked like a beak. That specific piece didn't make the final cut, but the idea did. So I built a bird.
Anywho, please rate and comment!

Quoting David Roberts I really like this creative use of Bionicle parts. I like how the wings fold for walking around. I think that it looks quite like a pterodactyl, very ancient, with pointy wings and that big fin at the back of its head.
Glad you like it. :)

Quoting StoveTop Creator Very cool... I am always amazed at how just looking at a familiar piece and rotating it around can make us 'see' it in a different light and all of a sudden give one an idea! Now that's creativity! :)
Thanks for the creative compliment :P But which piece are you talking about? The head? If so, thanks! (Edit: Oh, I get what you mean. It is pretty cool how versatile different pieces can be ;)

Quoting Gale Winthrope That's really cool. Now is it just me, or did anyone else think of the Gukko Birds upon first glance?
Really? I would've thought it looked more like a pterodactyl. But meh, glad you liked it!
