Whackemoff Stellar Enterprises Inc. Presents Newest Line of Fighters to Public! Just when everyone thought that Dr. Mikhail Whackemoff, founder of Whackemoff Stellar Enterprises Inc. had nothing else to give, it seems that the truth is that he has been secretly designing his revolutionary new line of star fighters all along. Reports indicate that G.A.I.A. (as well as other several other interested parties) have already placed massive orders for all three models to replace older fighters currently in use. Although other anonymous sources claim that G.A.I.A. is merely trying to monopolize the production of the newest military technologies for themselves. Representatives from G.A.I.A. would neither confirm nor deny the rumor.

About this creation

The Tornado is the prototype for a highly nimble one man ship capable of conventional flight in various atmospheric environments as well as deep space missions.

With its black and silver exterior, minimal fuselage profile and multi-phase cloaking device, the only times when this lone assassin isn’t lurking in the blackness is when it fires either its twin medium caliber lasers mounted in the nosecone or its two under slung heavy laser cannons and by then it’s too late.

Powered by a micro-fusion reactor, the triple thruster array in the tail section provides blistering speed in combat. Early reports indicate this fighter is already being named the tri-forked devil, a tradition Dr. Whackemoff seem to enjoy instigating as much as test pilots do.

Deflector shields have been installed as a standard feature but the shields must be powered down in order to use the cloaking device. It turns out it’s not an issue of power consumption but instead a feedback loop is created when both systems are simultaneously activated. The loop destabilizes the containment field of the reactor resulting in an explosion that disintegrates everything in 1,000 meters.
An interrupter circuit has been subsequently installed to prevent accidental explosions but on the bright side, it makes for a brilliant self-destruct system especially if the pilot decides to do a kamikaze run on the enemy!

The canopy utilizes a revolutionary glass-steel compound that provides unparalleled protection to the pilot even when the shields are not operating. A set of external lights next to the cockpit was added the pilot to search desolate ships and debris floating in space too. Some pilots found another use for them though. Like deep sea angler fish, the turn the lights on and off to draw in unsuspecting ships to land crippling blows from optimal attack vectors.

Another unique feature of this ship killer is the multitude of micronized directional thrusters built into it. They appear as the hollow openings along both wings and all three tail fins. It can literally turn in any direction on a 360 degree firing plane while remaining stationary or moving at full speed.

Dr. Whackemoff installed a feature on this bird that mimics a throw-back to 20th century earth fighters, namely a swing wing design. The difference here is that the wings swing forward to be stored underneath the fuselage.

This makes the Tornado much easier to transport in even smaller capital vessels such as destroyers and frigates versus much larger carriers. It could even fit in some cargo bins of transport ships making it a vital asset for covert operations.

An interesting note was discovered by accident that when flying close to the ground with the wings in the folded position the micronized thrusters create a cushion of air that allows it to travel like a hover vehicle. This discovery only enhances the overall capabilities of this next-generation combat plane.

Tell you what. If you want take a couple of pics and do a little razzzle-dazzle with photoshop to create a dogfight scene, be my guest! I've tried to use photoshop but I can't even get it to change the background color, let alone place cropped images on another scenery pic!

Just as soon as TLG makes technic pieces large enough for me to squish a fig into! Actually I have a fig sized ship planned for you but you'll have to wait a bit longer for that one. Thanks to the Mocathlon this time around I've found a better style of building for me I think. First create a whole bunch of stuff at one time, take all the photos together and then compose stories and post at my leisure. It's a bit more efficient on my time these days which means a lot!
