The Black Cat Haulage Co.
Delivering excavators across the land with their shiny new truck...
About this creation

'Hello Mr. Barrett, we have the excavators you ordered...'

'That's great, but I only wanted one!'

'Computer says two... you didn't by any chance leave a low bid on one that you forgot about...?'

'Ah. That can happen with eBay... I really didn't think I'd get it at that price!'

'Well, sir, they're paid for, you may as well take them.'
'I've only got one hole to dig!'

'They're not just for digging holes you know... ever heard of synchronized excavator dancing ?'

'Cue the music!' - or just hum 'YMCA' in your head, whatever works...

...'And turn...'

'Oops!'

'We're going to have fun explaining this...'

'Yeah, good luck with that. Sold! I'll take them. After all, you can never have too much Lego...'

Speaking of which, the 'Black Cat' 5571 Giant Truck, crowning glory of the Model Team range from 1996 - bang in the middle of my dark age. I couldn't resist and isn't it just peachy ?

Cost an arm and a leg, mind, but it's worth it!

Slightly modified, with a one stud wider track, steering that works better, wheelarches one stud wider on each side to cover the wheels better and a few small details.

That shovel on the back is a real-live Fabuland piece. Fab!

Also, a working engine driven by the rear wheels instead of the standard show engine.

And a low-loader trailer, as I had a big pile of red beams and plates.
Hurray! A MOC! About time...

Clip-on extensions for wide loads like excavators...

The second of which still has to teeter...

The rear ramps are lowered by the handwheel on the side and there's a fold down stabilizer at the front.

And it's goodbye from the Black Cat Haulage Co.

Thanks for watching!

... And how did you manage to build this gorgeous Black Cat with only one arm? lol. Indeed, you used those famous mid-figs and NPU. I easily can imagine the size of this huge hauler. The trailer is pretty impressive. The truck is just... stunning! Lego just released a minifig size Excavator transporter pretty cute => set 4203 (Ooops!). Looks like its little brother!

BOSS!!!

I'd really like to use some of the parts of my one, but I just can't bring myself to dismount it :-)) By the way, my favourite move with the excavator is to turn on the spot in one direction and rotate the upper part in the other direction at the same time. This way the upper parts does almost stand still. That looks so cool!

Maybe if I made one in 'Massive Red Lorry' size...

Great mods to the official sets - subtle but excellent improvements - enough to call this a 'MOC' certainly. But I really don't think you need two excavators - the Speed Shop could definitely put one to use... ; ) Anyways, nice mods, 4/5 (Normally I'd give something this good a 5 but that would put it level with your original creations like the Ecurie Ecosse Transporter...and I can't vote them a 6!)
