A desperate situation for our two heroes!
Just edited this now to add a little appendix. Cath Bailey thought it might be interesting to see my Lego collection, as I'm always bemoaning how small it is. Well here it is, all four tins: 1. Large Elements (cockpits, windows, etc.); 2. Bricks and Slopes; 3. Plates; 4. Functional, Small and Decorative Elements.

I keep looking at your creations because we seem to have similar collections: a lot of 80's stuff with bits of new. I have to admit that mine is 5 Curver boxes, rather than 4 biscuits tins. I love your creativity. I'm inspired and off to play with an ice-cream tub full of old Technic beams. Thank you!!
The collection has grown a bit lately. Check this out http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/326616. |

I love the fun, comic feel of this MOC, the build itself isn't that complex but you did a great job making an excellent classic space scene, keep it up! |

Wow great tentacles! |

Actually, I just watched a vid in school about prehistoric nautoloids, and this is pretty much the same thing. A squid with pointy shell. Carry on. |

Hahaha, so cs, what a cool vig, this actually looks like a vig they would have done back in the 80's were they doing them. Great job here :) |

You've been stepping out of your comfort zone so much, it may not even recognize you when you come back. This is another great, imaginative build. Hey, isn't the doomed spaceman Ben. Ouch, poor guy does a stint in the pink Creator sets, then comes back to be an appetizer for the Nautoloid;) Great stuff, as always, David.
My daughter has been making barbecues and playing garden parties with her Lego; all those burgers and spare ribs have played havock with poor Ben's astronaut physique. Also, just so you don't feel let down, you'll be glad to know I have another classic space build up my sleeve. Thanks again for the comments. |

Nowhere near a nautilus, it's a squid. But cool nonetheless!
I started out thinking it would be a nautilus, but he became a squid - i still wanted to keep the name nautoloid though, it just sounded right. |

Haha a great scene full of character and style. In fact all your mocs have a style that I really like. Even better knowing that you build from such a limited supply of bricks. |

It looks like you have enough pieces to build a small fortress, so I'd say...do it.
It's going to be a multi-coloured fortress. But that could be cool. |

Someone once told me, "A builder is only limited by the size of his imagination, not the size of his collection." You are the perfect example of that quote. Well done! |

A bit early to be hitting the bottle isn't it? Oh! It's you David... I truly envy your imagination and creativity, this is splendid =D Will the red guy ever get a lucky break?
Thanks Jon, as I noted this was going to be a bit off beat, but I'm glad you like it. The tentacles were a design compromise in many ways but I think they work - in an ideal world they would have been tan. |
