Battle for the Moon: Soviet "Dragon" Starfighter
A Russian spacefighter has made an emergency landing to refuel...
About this creation

"Космос холоден, но русские женщины холоднее."
("Space is cold but Russian women are colder".)

Most cosmonauts in the Battle for the Moon were women, leaving the men to pilot their mechs against the American ground forces. The "Ladies of the Stars" quickly earned a reputation amongst their enemy for their bravery and savagery in battle.

Impossible to see but the pilot is a rather lovely female. Some things bug me about the rocket but I'm leaving this one be for now. Man how cool are those new Star Wars planet sphere pieces?!

Again, sorry if you've seen this already on Flickr; I was saving all these retro mocs up for one big BftM post but lack of time means I'll have to do them individually.

Thanks for looking dudes!

nice use of that death star part! And no imagination needed to conjure up a hot Russian astronaut! Was her name Natasha, Dasha, or Marina?

I love the black & white photo of this MOC. Monochrome really brings out the retro style of the rocket. It could be out of the "Eagle" comic of the 50's & 60's.

That whole setup looks like it belongs on the cover of an old "amazing stories" sci fi magazine.

CCCP and all! This is just old school gold, love it. That rover looks so like those old artists impressions you used to see when we were young.

Most excellent! Loving the simplistic, '50s feel to it. Is an American spacecraft in the works, perhaps? Can't let them Commies get all the good stuff :P Great job!

You're too 80's to be 50's... but man, do you pull it off well. Nice work! ~ Chris.
