About this creation

...Drilling the Stratocaster.

I spent part of my weekend in my studio with the LEGO and power tools. The Stratocaster now has a steel rod through it that runs midway through the body all the way to the headstock. Those ABS shavings get EVERYWHERE!

Gluing is the next step, but for now, I can pick up the guitar by it's neck and hold it more naturally.

I see why you did this but i also think there would be other ways to increase the stabillity of the guitar. Isnt it thick enough to built in some Technik parts?

Quoting Daniel Brilliant I'm with Luke, drilling bricks makes me sad. I can see why you did it, but I don't think I could ever bring myself to do that to my legos.

There was a time when I felt the same way about the brick. Now I feel quite differently (obviously). There are some very practical and legitimate reasons to do this, and it's quite liberating. I've opened a door to a whole new world with this project.
