A prototype Gundam mobile suit for Project Apocalypse.
About this creation
The North American Republic commissioned the reclusive Doktor W to design a 'phase two' mobile suit for military application. This endeavor was dubbed Project Apocalypse. The mobile suit was to be stronger, better, faster, and harder to kill. Initial project investment was steep, and multiple cost overruns were encountered, but the end result was this: the XXXG-01H 'Heavyarms' Gundam.
The Heavyarms was designed with hard-hitting blitz strikes in mind. It was to approach the target at a high rate of speed with the aid of a booster pack, survive initial contact due to specialized composite armor plating, and then unleash hell with a veritable armory of munitions stored inside. The Heavyarm suit would literally be the tip of the spear for NAR assault operations.
Armed with dual shoulder-mounted anti-bunker rocket pods, twin chest-mounted 10mm Vulcan cannons for soft targets, and an hand manipulated Gatling Beam Cannon for mobile suit engagement, the Heavyarms was true to its name. Articulated armor plating could be sprung open once within engagement range for the mounted weapons, in order to minimize the risk of the weapon systems being disabled during approach.
The only downside to the Apocalypse Project was that it could only produce one such suit. The NAR simply could not afford to put the Heavyarms unit into production. Instead, it has been assigned a dedicated pilot and is currently employed as a special forces operation Gundam.
