AEGAKS-909-HRe "Orion"
About this creation
AEGAKS-909-HRe "Orion," H-Frame Command Class

Armament:
- Heavy Gauss Cannon
- Anti-Platform Gatling Gun
- Anti-Infantry Light Machine Gun
- Bunker Buster Rockets (x10)
- Heat-seeking "Blitz" Fragmentation Missiles (x2)
- Mortars (x24)

Pilot:
Captain Raito Mirimashi, leading officer in the SPA and respected commander of the Exo-Force

The Orion is one of the heaviest weapons the SPA has to offer. Its size (approx. 55 feet tall) and array of weapons makes it a dangerous enemy agianst the Devastator Army.

Lulz. It's so tall, it couldn't fit with the background entirely.

Not too happy with the backside of the legs, but whatever. The rest is awesome, in my opinion.

I was originally going to give the Orion a heavy minigun. The bulky shoulder armor was meant to protect the pilot block when using the minigun. But alas, I don't have a minigun for the Orion. Shoulder looks cool though ^.^

The Anti-Infantry gun is attached to the pilot block so that, if and when the pilot needs to eject, he has some way of defending himself should he need to.

Mortar tubes are attached to the ankles of the Orion. Each tube holds three mortars.

The second heaviest armament that the Orion sports is its gatling gun. It is very similar to that of the Devastator Scourge's main weapon, but has the potential to do more damage than the Scourge's cannon.

Gatling cannon breakdown.

The Orion's main weapon is its Gauss cannon. This weapon, when charged fully, has the potential to shred almost anything. It is most often used to annihilate Devastator tanks, but it can be used as an anti-aircraft weapon if aimed properly.

The Orion's full armament.

Even if the Orion is unarmed, it is still a deadly threat. It is extremely strong, so fighting hand-to-hand is not a problem for the Orion.

As with all AEGAKS units, the pilot block is ejectable in the event of an emergency. Here is Captain Mirimashi with his block.

A little action shot won't hurt, right? ;D

Notes~

The Orion was originally intended to be a sexy mix of the Dawn Forge and AEGAKS line, but I think I ended up leaning more towards the latter. I've had the idea for the orion for quite a while, but never thought I had the time or the pieces to construct this monster. Considering the entire body itself took only about three days to complete and the weapons five hours, I was wrong, though I did lack the pieces. Sadly, the 706-Tskr "Timeseeker," a mecha I had made for a friend of mind, had to be sacrificed for the Orion.

Thanks for checking it out ^.^

This is just fantastic work, mate. Love the tapered design - heck I'm impressed just how many curves and organic shapes have been evoked here using SYSTEM parts, but in addition: I'm truly a sucker for incorporation of a chest cockpit capable of holding a minifig. GREAT MOC, m8. Cheers =)

Wow. This thing is amazing. I love the colors and the weaponry is very well conceived. Great poseability. I love the look of the cockpit. Not overstated, but very effective. Excellent work!

Very sexy indeed, my friend. Great color as well as structure overall. I find myself drawn to the missile rack; very nicely executed. The one suggestion that I would make is one that I, myself, have issues with at times: perhaps experiment with different ways to show less, or hide the joints altogether. I find that this piece: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=44728 works quite well for that purpose without hindering too much movement. Again, great work overall. Good to see you building mecha. I like your style; it's unique to you.

The colors, the posing, the style, the weapons, all excellent. It reminds me of the movie from the 80's where people stop fighting wars and instead have these mechs fight to decide conflicts. I totally forget what it is called, but I hope you know which one I mean.

Nicely made. The Guass cannon is very nice, a more serviceable weapon than my Jouster Cannon. The weapons are all very well developed as is the frame. ^Blub^
