Not At All Massive Red Lorry
What happens when I put my second most popular MOC in the boil wash...
About this creation

Here's a little 7-wide truck with working steering and lashings of cuteness. Possibly.

It may be small, but it's still quite long... are we still talking about the lorry ?

The doors open, and so they should - they're ready made door pieces...

There's room for two minifigs. The driver may be having second thoughts about picking up that hitchhiker...

Cab only, showing off what was until very recently my only chrome piece. Hiding coyly behind it is the control for the steering, which works very well using a cunning mix of old and new Technic bits.

A lorry with the turning circle of a London Taxi!

The trailer waiting to be picked up, resting on it's folding front legs.

The box is strong enough to act as a monocoque, with the undercarriage attached to it's underside.

Those rear doors...

The tidiest interior of any of my trailer boxes.

My obsession with building boxes to put stuff in continues...

Here it is with it's slightly bigger brother. It'd fit inside the yellow one's box if it was a stud or two lower. The yellow one would have gone in the massive red one's box if that still existed. Then we'd have some Russian Lorries (with apologies to Tom Simon...)

Stop it. Stop it now.

Very nice and funny lorry! As usual, everything is functionnal... Great! I like the patterns on the trail, it brings contrast. On the last pic, the little lorry seems to be coming directly from the 70's? A vintage truck!!

Wow, Nick, that steering is great, how did you make a 5-wide steering mechanism? I have an idea or two, but a "money shot" of the tractor truck would be great! ;-)) There is also some great SNOT building and some very nice details (those classic LEGO logo bricks are so cool). The 70's style 4-wide truck is really cool, too. Great job! :-))

The scale is awesome, love the steering and retro wheels, but the best is the detail of just the tractor, the stack and intake, very nice!

Awesome lorry! You are actually building what I am dreaming of ;-) I love everything about it, the use of the door hinges as part of the frontend, the steering of course and the way you snotted the trailer. Really great stuff.

Quoting Tom Simon It's so adorable! I want to run out and get it some cotton candy. Or would it prefer a small bucket of gears? Not you Nick. What would the truck like?
Haha! Thanks Tom. Actually, I do eat buckets of gears...

Quoting DeTomaso Pantera Where's the LEGO mosaic ;-) I was upset with you for destroying the Massive Red Lorry but you just made up for it. Looks just as good but a lot smaller. I'd like to see a forklift and some contents for the truck ;-)
Thanks Tom. I tried a Lego mosaic but it's just too small.... then I did 'Lego' in morse code down the side but it just looked naff - then I gave up!
