A microfig version of New York's former World Trade Center Complex
About this creation
This is a model of New York's former World Trade Center Complex. I have based the model on Spencer Rezkalla's fantastic design which I truly loved.

The model is built on 16 16x6 baseplates and includes six of the seven buildings (I will be building WTC 7 at a later stage) the surrounding roads, the plaza and minture details which makes the model look like the original Trade Center.

The model contains over 30,000 pieces and took over a year to buy all the pieces and complete. The model contained lots of very intricate work such as lansacaping to fit all the buildings together at the required height, and the slant of the streets around the complex were a real challenge.

The model is completed in microfig scale and will be accompanied at a later date by the World Financial Center, which I am currently planning in the same scale.

How tall did this turn out to be? There is a lamp standing alongside the buildings in one photo, but not able to scale it as we're not sure how tall the lamp is. Great work, though! :)

THANK YOU! I did counseling work with the police, firemen and families of victims and I have photographs I took of the secoind tower going down. It's so hard to believe this will be the 10th Anniversary. Would you ever think of donating it to the new center's museum? May the powers that be always look after you!

Excellent work. It looks like you have spared no expense in re-creating the WTC. Did Spencer give you additional information on how to build the complex because it looks like a perfect replica! I don't see how you did it if you just used the pictures here and on Brickshelf. Truly fantastic!
