"The Dog Ate My Homework" entry for the team "Perpetual Motion Squad." Some of the pieces' colors aren't right because the Bricklink order didn't arrive, even though I ordered it two weeks ago.

How did a monster eat the student's writing assignment? It went like this:

Writing Teacher: You haven't turned in your poem, so what's your excuse this time, mister?

Student: Er...umm...I..uhh...

WT: I am giving you a chance to say something, so speak up! Most teachers wouldn't even give you a chance!

S: Ah, yes...I was coming to ...no...I mean...I was on my way to school and um...a...I mean two dinosaurs came and attacked me. So I err...found a place to hide from the dinosaur -

WT: Wait - how many dinosaurs exactly were there? At first you said two, then now only one?

S: Oh...oops...I mean, yes...wait...no.

WT: Yes or no?! Make up your mind!

S: Yes - there were two dinosaurs. Then the wind blew my poem into the street, and so...eh..em...I went to get it back, then -

WT: So you're saying you did write a poem.

S: Ehh...wait, what was the question?

WT: (fustrated) Nevermind!

S: Okay, so I got my homework but the wind blew it out of my hand into a sewer...um...er...eh...wait, where was I? Ah, yes, I remember now. I fished it out of the sewer then a p-t...er...I don't know how to pronounce that flying dinosaur reptile thing. Okay, I'll just say "flying dinosaur" - grabbed it and flew into the night sky -

WT: Hold on! Didn't you say that this was on your way to school? How could it be at night?

S: Umm...I woke up early - no...um...I...er...meant morning. So, as I was saying until I was so extremely rudely interu -

WT: Ahem!

S: Oops! I mean...um...the flying dinosaur was shot down by Daniel Boone. Then Mr. Bon...wait...Mr. Bone...what was his name again? Oh yes, Mister Bones...wait no. I meant Mr. Boone. Mr. Boone was killed by a knight. The homework drifted down after the flying dinosaur was shot into the mouth of a cute little monster. The knight started chasing me. I began to run away.

WT: Enough! I'm giving you ONE more chance to explain why you didn't turn in your homework!

S: You don't believe me?

WT: Good heavens no! How could I believe such nonsense? Stay here while I get the "Torture and Punishment Machine!"

S: Wait! I'll write the poem now. I still remember it!

WT: Fine. If you can do it in five minutes, I won't get the machine.

So this is what the student wrote:

The monster gobbled it up,
All week's work gone in a gulp,
Nothing to do but to hope,
Then a knight in shining armor began to chase me,
I ran, but it was too late,
He already decided my fate.

How I wished for my mommy,
or even my daddy!

The cute monster. I used a flag for his tongue.

Quoting claw paradox nice monster! i just want to point out that pterosaurs were not dinosaurs. they were flying reptiles that evolved from the same root as the dinosaurs.

Yeah, they're not considered dinosaurs, but the student in the story isn't the brightest kid, so...yeah. But about them evolving, I disagree. :)
