Music Instrument Shop
Music Instrument Shop
About this creation
This is my fourth CC-compatible house. It is a corner-house and it has an instrument shop in it. It is a rebuild of a previous house of mine but it has changed so much in the process that I consider it a new MOC. Most of the interior items are older MOCs, however the drumkit is new. I introduced a new concept with this building: the shop itself finctions like a somewhat oversized vignette: it is a separate module which can be removed from the house and presented as a stand-alone MOC.

Quoting DARK spawn It is a little disapointing that there are only 2 exterior walls, but the overall all effect more than makes up for it :)
Yeah, I don't build these houses for playing, they are for display in a diorama. I realized that if you use big shop windows on the ground level, and there is no interior in there, it looks bad. So I started filling up the empty shops. The internal size of the shop is as big as the house, so I can put in a lot of stuff. It is not in proportion with the size of the building, of course. But that would be cost prohibitive, each house would have to be much bigger than these.

Fantastic! So, I can see how the actual "glass" of your SNOT windows are made. A 1x2 plate, a 2x2 transparent block and then a 1x2 tile. My question is how do you then "connect" the 1x2 plate to the supporting structure? (I'm a "newbie".) --- Never mind! I was blind, but now I see! It looks like you used the 1x1 technic brick and one of those handy-dandy blue pins with a stud in the hole.

Amazing. Your grand piano is slightly inaccurate but I think I can forgive you. ;-) This is amazing SNOT here...must have cost you a lot. Nice MOC.

Brilliant, the plate hinges & ribbons used for detail is my favourite part. The music shop interrior is excellent. It is a little disapointing that there are only 2 exterior walls, but the overall all effect more than makes up for it :)

this is absoluteyl fantastic...Mocpages was getting a bit depressing with all the minifigs from starwars by-products...anyways...i really love the attention to detail you into this model...and as a drummer and a person who spends most free time in music shops and music studio i can say you perfectly recreated the feeling of the absolute mess and overload of random stuff there are in these places!! cymbals and pianos fight trumpets for space! its great!:)

You did a pretty good job. I would try making the drumset better. Now, I haven't put mine up on MOC, but still.
