23. Vanishing Eden
Create a MOC that touches on environmental consciousness. Pick a life form or location from anywhere in the world that is threatened, and do a MOC that raises awareness.

Many will remember the huge oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico when a high pressure pipeline burst at BP's Horizon Rig. Recently New Zealand had its worst oil spill when the container ship 'Rena' ran aground a reef a fer hundred meters off shore. Thankfully the mess caused was only minute in comparison to the Horizon Rig spill. The 'Rena' incident could not have occurred at a more crucial time, right when our government was looking at exploiting some of NZ's most beautiful golden sand beaches (Motueka, Nelson Bays, Marlborough Sounds and the Farewell Spit). This is what I see as a foreseeable future. What greed has the heart of man, when money and comfort are more important than the beauty of the world in its natural state. ~Thoy

This is my first ever attempt at forced perspective, sorry if the perspective is a lil' rough. These next 3 shots are from behind the scenes :)

Beautiful! Not quite enough to stir my emotions though. Except for the fact there's about $30,000 in oil scattered about your build! :P Score= 4

Oh yes! That's really awesome. Off the top of my head, maybe more comparison in size between the closer and farther trees. Great addition to the team's entries!

Quoting The Timinater ! epic~ I'm guessing that was oil on the beach?
A closer look at the big blob in the foreground will reveal an oil coated bird :) The background is more birds, but obviously so far away that shape can not be made out :) That is why I put the second photo in there, 1x1 plates make good distant birds lol :D

Do you have some tips? I'm keen for a bit of feedback on this as it was my first FP :)

Quoting Steve The Squid Amazing landscaping, I hope that in future big builds from you you can have awesome landscaping like this, because I feel that a lot of your huge builds (like your last one) are a little lacking in landscaping. I loved those mountains, and the oil!
Lol, the last build was intentionally made flat :) The minimilist greenery was to give the impression of a slightly browed plateau with a shingle banked river carving through the plain. The flatness also exentuated the majestic appearance of the buildings :) Though it might seem lacking, it was done with intention, maybe some patches of dark tan here or there would have helped with the semi-barren look :) Cheers.

WOW!! The main pic is just stunning! And still, the build is so (outragously) simple... Someone had to think of it: you did. Respect. The line made by mountains and trees give the effect of a postcard. Really well done!!

Beautiful Thoy, so simple and effective! The curving treeline and the shape of the distant mountains are just perfect, and the spilt oil is very recognisable too.
