2012 MOCathalon: A Prophecy of Blue and Red
Entering for Team Dark Horse 2 in Category 12, "Ovids Metamorphose". I had no idea what to do for this, so I did some research... I hope I got the general idea of a person changing to something else.
About this creation
MOCathalon
Team Dark Horse: Part Deux

A prophecy of blue and red;
In time of dark, of shade, of night,
The follower journeys
Through empty country's tangled plight.
A sacrifice of serpent's blood
To appease blue pillar great and old
Shall bring about the archfiend's reign,
The moonbeam's power through spirit cold
Bestows upon disciple of the blue
Demon's potential, yet untold.
As flesh replaced by glowing soul,
With hue of blood,
A prophecy of blue and red
A tale, a warning, for future told.

A silent night in empty wilderness.

The moon hangs low and bright as a lone man enters a clearing.

He pauses briefly, surveying the area.

The man turns around, checking that he is alone.

He turns back towards the moon.

He raises up his hands and begins a strange chant.
The volume of the mantra steadily increases.

Suddenly, a glowing blue pillar lances down from the sky.
A voice calls out,
"What is it that you want, disciple of the blue?"
As it speaks, the pillar gives off a faint red light, as if an omen of what is to come.
The man answers.

"As I have remained a faithful follower of the blue, I wish to become lifted; I wish to receive the soul of a red one."
A brief rumbling comes from the pillar.
"A sacrifice."

The man retrieves a dead snake, and in the red glow, holds it aloft.
"Your reward and curse, you shall receive," says the blue pillar.

"As the moon reaches the apex of its ascent, it will align itself with my form.
It is then that your power will be bestowed."
The man waits eagerly.

Suddenly, the moon reaches the crescendo of its orbit.
A brilliant red light shines through where it is eclipsed by the blue pillar.

A blinding flash ensues, and the man feels immense pain.

When the light clears, the pillar is gone.
But the red glow remains, as does the echoing voice.
"Now."

The disciple's metamorphosis was complete.
A power and a curse was his new form; one of the red, sons of the blue, harbinger of hell.

Woo, another dramatic one.

Figures used... disciple of the blue along with his new red demon form.

See y'all next time.

You were very aggressive in your use of lighting in your photos. They were dimly lit, but it was intentional. Later, the use of glare was very dramatic. I dig it. The whole thing looks like some sort of early 1970s Sci Fi. Too bad about your scores in the contest. Keep experimenting. Attack!

Solid concept, but very weak builds. Keep in mind this is a LEGO contest, not a writing contest. Score= 2.

Nice attempt. Interesting and I'd actually like to see more background on something like this. Build was a two but the story brought it up a bit for me. 3 points. ~ Chris.

Quoting Space Gypsy . Eerie. Good editting.
There was no editing, just crafty lighting. :)

Thanks guys!
Quoting Luke, Builder of the Awesome Wait, have you done more than six entries?
Yes, yes I have. EKO decided not to build anything, but I didn't realize it until Sunday. I also have not been able to contact half of my remaining team, so Space Gypsy and I are scrambling to get as many categories done as we can.
