Just like Tom Dickson, you need to find 2 themes to blend together and build a creation representing the blending of both. For example, Spastle (space and castle), Friend-Punk (Friends and steampunk), or Mechars (mechas and cars). The only requirement is that you use your imagination to find a magical blend of themes.

Mechtle Mobile Command Keep

Welcome to the world of Mechtle where medieval knights wield futuristic weapons and don super powered battle armors known as mechtles. Their goal is to prove their valor on the battlefield for the lords and lands they serve.

The Mechtle Mobile Command Keep provides the defensive protection equal to any castle while being able to traverse any terrain thanks to its gigantic tank tracks.

Armed with missile launchers, Gatling cannons and a long-range communications tower can repel invaders while directing commanding allied forces.

Nothing makes a knight smile more that packing a big-arse personal Gatling gun!

There’s more than meets the eye (yeah I stole it, so what) to the walls of this fortress. Step one is to release the locking bolts.

Either the front and/or rear walls transform into ramps for the mechtles to access thee keep.

Fully operational repair facilities for the mechtles take up the majority of the courtyard. There are plenty of power converters, pneumatic pistons, and other wondrous greebles strategically positioned about the keep to perform their various duties but in truth seem designed to take up space. From time to time, dignitaries and other nobles will be transported aboard the keep however being a combat platform it lacks the amenities found in most traditional keeps.

The keep is also staffed with a contingent of knights armed with blades and guns of all calibers, along with specialty trained support staff including engineers, mechanics, and a driver for the keep.

At least one suit of mechtle armor is always present to defend the keep but mechtle knights often ride out in teams depending on the strength of the enemy. Each mechtle is unique but they all share certain common abilities. For example, all of their weapons can be ejected once the ammo supplies are depleted. The loss of the extra weight allows them to double their speed and maneuverability so they can engage in good old fashioned heavy metal bashing.

It does come with its own “Mr. Mead” automated mead brewer which this unfortunate guard has just found empty!

The mechtle currently assigned to the keep is called the Archer. It has a short ranged cannon on each arm and a sniper’s rifle on the back. When all else fails, it can unleash a battleaxe for that up close and personal touch.

This fearsome mechtle is the Oni. This armor was forged by unknown smiths from the most eastern reaches of the realm. It carries an arm mounted twin barreled shotgun and a machine gun, a back mounted multi-barreled heavy assault cannon and a pair of curved swords called katanas by its knight.

Next up is a long range support mechtle is known as Trebuchet. Its weapons include an assault rifle, two drum missile pods, and a double headed pole arm.

Centurion is a heavy arms variant mechtle. Each arm has two large caliber cannons. A pair of anti-flying guns and one massive keep buster gun supplement its long range ordinance. As a last ditch effort, a bayonet adorns each gun arm.

The final mechtle is known as Draco. Its weapons are naturally fire based. One arm carries a flame thrower while the other has powerful claw to rip through mechtle armor plating. On the back is a pair of six-shot Greek-fire missile launchers. As a side note, this is the only mechtle that has a female knight within it.

Gotta' have the group pose for posterity!
BUILDERS NOTES: I must credit to our benevolent overlord and supreme deity Sean Kenney. I used one of his “Cool Robots” designs for the torsos and kept on embellishing until it became the mechtle seen today. The keep though is entirely my own bit of insanity. I can honestly say that I would pick this pimped out ride over a Jawa Sand-crawler and day of the week!

It's a fairly simple construction, but the build looks great, and the idea is really good. Nicely done! |

For the first shot of a new, original theme, this is great. I love all the background on each mech and detail. It is all very creative. I would love to see more, further improved creations along this theme. Keep building :) |

Holy heck! Insane! Mike great work man, you really went beserk here, lol. It blends allright. And the sheer fun of this Moc really sets it apart fro mmany. Great.
Thanks friend and here's the wild part. My original plan was to build a flying dropship kind of thing but nothing I tried worked out right. Fortunately the tank tread idea ran me over like a freight train and one thing led to another 'til, Taa Daa! In fact, this could be a fun storyline to develop once this is all over and let others come up with their own mechtles. What do you think? |

Thanks everyone, I was definitely going for playability on this one. To be honest it is fun to push along the floor and grind helpless victims under the tracks. Makes a pretty good back messager too I must say! |

The keep itself was worth the four, adding the mechs and the backstory (Mr. Mead... hehe) brought it up. Score of 5 ~ Chris. |
