Vignetted This category is meant to challenge you to build small and detailed. NPU (Nice Part Usage) is a must as you try to make your scene as detailed and complex as possible. Quality vignettes will have draw-dropping details while not being too cluttered or busy. To challenge you even further, this category has a 16x16 size limit. Anything larger than that will be susceptible to DQ. No restrictions on the content.

2012 MOCathalon

So here is my MOCathalon entry for the category Vignetted. I made this futuristic hard-suit race track thing. This was a lot of fun to make. There are three sections of the Vignette. Bleachers, hard-suit track and the pits.




I will start off with this part first. These are the pits, where the hard-suit goes to get repaired or to get some nitrous or fuel.


Here is one of the workers, repairing the suits knee part.


Here is the second worker refilling the nitro blasters.


Here is the tool rack.


Finally, here is the team leader giving the hard-suit racer a pep talk.


Here are the details in the back which include a garage door and a tool shelf.






Now here is where all the action happens! The track!


Here's the bleachers with the people. Remember, the time setting is like 600 years from now so the people are going to look a bit different.


There is a strong fence post in front of the croud, so if a hard-suit racer crashes, then the people won't die.


Lots of people showed up to watch the race...


... Even Phipson!


I'm not sure what to think of this person..


The ol' sig showed up too but if I were him, don't think I would want to sit by the Wolf-Man.


The Timinater is sitting by Iceman, laughing because Ice is scared of the wolf...


... But if I was the Timinater I wouldn't be laughing because there is a scary zombie thing sitting by him...

Oh and here is one detail I forgot to talk about. This racing suit is spraying nitrous to go twice as faster.

Twice as faster? :P You may want to fix that small grammar error. But still an amazing MOC, I love all the detail. Everything looks very nice. Love the robots! Good luck with the judges!

Fantastic scene with excellent details, i've got a bad knee too. I am absolutely loving the mechs especially the orange one. I might have to try those out one day. I recognise some of those minifigs :D. Good luck Iceman

This is cool, the three levels adds a great sense of depth, the hardsuits are well made (the flame boosters are sweet), the colors and build style are fun, and the topic is very original. 5/5
