About this creation
Flow (by this I mean the flow of the model)
RabidGoldfish: RAS-12 Jackrabbit
Basic design: 5/5. It catches the eye very well. Good job on this.
Flow: 4.5/5. This model flows very well. Nothing really jumps out at me that there is anything really wrong with it.
Aerodynamics: 4/5. A mech is very hard to streamline aerodynamically, but I think you accomplished it pretty well.
Originality: 5/5. This mecha has a style and feel all of its own. Well done.
Coolness: 5/5. When I first saw this mecha, I was blown away. It’s amazingly cool.
Overall score: 23.5/25. Tied for first!
I really liked this mech. You came close to a perfect score, well done. I look forward to your participation in upcoming contests. Keep those mechs coming.
Andros Tempest: Team GB Roadrunner
Basic design: 4/5. This mecha doesn’t look like much on first sight… but when you study it, you realize how good it really is.
Flow: 5/5. This mecha feels like the same mecha from the top to the bottom. There is no strange mixing of styles. It flows very well.
Aerodynamics: 5/5. This mecha is streamlined perfectly in both modes. Well done.
Originality: 5/5: I really can’t touch you here. I’ve NEVER seen a mech like this before. It is totally your own thing. If I could give you a 6/5 in this area, I would.
Coolness: 3.5/5. I really struggled with this score. This mecha doesn’t come off as a really cool mecha to start with, but when you really pay attention to the design, it really is cool.
Overall score: 22.5/25
Well done, Andros! You’ve really grown as a builder since I first saw your mechs. Keep those great designs coming!
Aaron Yates: RMX-8
Basic design: 4.5/5. This mecha is really good. I like it.
Flow: 4/5. This mecha flows very well. One pointer though: the legs look just a tad bit smaller than they should be, considering the mech’s upper body is so large.
Aerodynamics: 3.5/5. I really like this mecha, but it’s aerodynamics could be better. Making less bulky would definitely help it in that area.
Originality: 5/5. Good job making this mecha look like your own. It feels like your style through and through.
Coolness: 5/5. This thing is so cool. I really like it. You’re a great builder, Aaron!
Overall score: 22/25
Really great build you got here Aaron. It’s really cool and has a nice feel to it. Keep building, man!
Chris D.: Bagheera
Basic Design: 5/5. Well done, Chris! I really like this mecha!
Flow: 5/5. This mecha flows very well. Great job!
Originality: 5/5. I have only seen something like this once and never in a racing mech. Great job, this mech feels like your own!
Coolness: 4/5. It’s very cool, I like how you interpreted a feline feel into this mech. Well done!
Overall score: 23/25.
Really well done, Chris! I don’t know you very well, but this is a great mecha, very well done. I give you a hearty pat on the back for this mech!
Thomas Z., returning champion : CG-2 Lancelot Blitz
Basic Design: 5/5. Amazing! This mech has so much detail! Great job!
Flow: 4/5. This mecha seems to use several different styles of building, but I like how it blended together!
Aerodynamics: 2.5/5. The aerodynamics on this mech are… well, not that good.
Originality: 5/5. All the mechs in this contest are very original. Well done, Thomas!
Coolness: 5/5. Did you even have to ask? I mean, this thing is just overflowing with coolness. So much so, that it almost started to fill the other categories! If I could give you 6/5 in this area, I would.
Overall score: 21.5/25
You had a great mecha here, Thomas. Really awesome! But I think it lacks in aerodynamics. This would’ve been a really cool fighting mecha though. Actually, that’d be really cool to see… I might try editing your mech, if that’s okay with you. But anyway, great job! Keep those great ideas coming!
Ariklego: Tempest Racer Mech MK I
Basic Design: 5/5. I think you've made one of those breakthroughs that you wish you could be making, Arik. Great job on this! I really like it, even though it’s a heavier design. I realize that your mecha was a little taller than the height limit, but I'm giving you grace because it was just the top of the helmet.
Flow: 5/5. This mecha flows very well. You seemed to use the same techniques/styles throughout. It feels like the same mech through and through. Great job!
Aerodynamics: 3/5. For such a large/bulky mech, it’s aerodynamics are pretty good. Obviously could’ve been better though.
Originality: 5/5. Nothing to say here.
Coolness: 5/5. This thing may not look cool to other people, but I think it looks AWESOME. You really did a good job with the whole werewolf thing (I don’t care that the politically correct term is wolf anthro. It's a WEREWOLF for goodness sake).
Overall score: 22. I took off a point for being over the height limit.
Amazing. You did amazing. I really like this mecha, it's very cool. I think you've made a breakthrough, Arik!
All i would like to hear, is a better explanation about my MOC getting less for aerodynamics compared to Arik's metal hulk.
(now, no offense Arik, but your MOC isn't really on the aerodynamic side, tough I still think it's a very nice creation).
I'd just like to hear the reasons for it, because this doesn't really make sense to me at all.
I know you have your own preferences, that's totally okay, but if you want to be a good judge, give better explanations please, or people might start getting wrong ideas.
In my scoring, I deducted 1 point from arik's score because he broke the limit. Also, LTE, it seems like you're kinda rating arik's unfairly high. I know you guys are friends, but, well, just look at my scoring for the reasons I think arik's should be scored lower. Finally, you shouldn't just change the rules because your friend's entry was over the height limit. Rules should be concrete, not changing.
hey, LTE? I kinda agree with Andrew on this. my entry DID break the rules, even if it was only a little bit, and you really should at the very least deduct some points for that. and adjusting the rules at the last minute isn't terribly fair, either. :S
Well, I didn't say anything in regards to disqualifying Arik for violating the Height Restriction, just the fact that you said you checked and that it was under when Airk had admitted to violating the rule. I feel that since the other entries took the time to ensure that they abided by the Rules of your Contest that Arik's entry should be penalized, to a small degree, in the scoring of each Judge to justify allowing his entry to compete despite breaking the rule, even if it was by one brick, as that could have been easily avoided by checking prior to posting on his part. Each Contestant not only checked but provided snapshots to prove that they in fact did and it feel slightly unfair to them that you would make an exception. However, it is your call, but I suggest taking into account how they might feel when they discover this information and that you simply allowed it without any penalty. It may not be a big deal to them, it may cause an issue with, all I'm trying to do is prevent that from happening.
Quoting Andrew AKA Hump-Free
Before reading this, make sure to bear in mind that I am quite aware that I am not an official of the Contest...
Andrew, the height restriction was 21 bricks. Arik's mecha is 22 bricks tall, agreed, but it's only a crest on the helmet of his mech that breaks the rule. I will change the contest results so that it no longer says that his mech was within the height restriction, but I'm not about to DQ him or change my score in anyway because part of his helmet was a little taller than the height restriction. In other words, I'm giving him grace.
Before reading this, make sure to bear in mind that I am quite aware that I am not an official of the Contest in any way nor is this an attempt to be one. I feel the need as a Spectator to call foul play on your part in regards to Arik's Entry being deemed under 21 Bricks. After reading this, I remeasured the unit next a 21 2x2 Bricks, the same one I used for my Ex-Entry and used a plate to verify that it his entry, which I did not edit in any way from the file he posted, was indeed over the restriction, in fact I had to stack an additional Brick to allow the plate to reach over the shoulder of the unit, let alone the unit's head. When I had initially measured the unit and came to the same conclusion, I brought the issue to his attention and provided a Snapshot of his unit compared to the Stack. After this, Arik himself even confirmed a similar conclusion and posted about the issue within the Group. I feel that by declaring his entry, which is clearly larger than the suggested restriction and when he confirmed the information, to be within the height limits that you are cheating the other Contestants as someone in the position to Judge entries in a fair manner.
I think you had a little trouble with your ' in all of that. :P huh, so I tied for first with Rabid? well personally I think Rabid did better, but sure I'll take that. :P I might do some work on the design, though. it feels a bit... sloppy to me.
