Raiders Beware!
Protecting the kingdom one giant robot stomp at a time!
About this creation
CATEGORY: Will It Blend?

TEAM: The Globetrotters

MocAthalon link.

For the category "Will It Blend?" I built this. It is a combination of Mecha and Castle. I call it a Mechastle. Catchy name, huh? It rolls off the tongue nicely :)

I'm sure these raiders will never be seen in this kingdom again.

It's a trap! The mighty knight of the kingdom awaits the fleeing raiders. They shall taste his blade!

Now for the main attraction without any distractions.
This lumbering stone war machine stands at a healthy 15" tall.

Stone helm complete with crown. It is the king's castle after all.

I tried to incorporate as much castle-based architecture into this as I could. It's much easier said then done. Obviously, the more pieces you add on, the heavier it gets. That is why the forearms are very basic. The shoulder joints just couldn't handle any more weight.

Again, lots of castle elements. The pelvis was the only place that I couldn't add on castle bits without making him look very...gifted, if you know what I mean.

The arms also have a bit of castle infusion. I raised the shoulder guard so you could get a better look at it.

The back. Nothing special back here really.

This parts is my favorite! It was a real pain to make it work but it turned out so well!
The round tower in the middle of this guys was the first thing I built. It was one of those things that looks so cool that you refuse to give up trying to incorporate it into the MOC.
I spend two solid days trying everything I could think of to build the body around this tower! The resulting headache was a doozy too! Well worth the effort though.

Some true brilliance here, m8. A bit of real System wizardry, even kinda blending I genre I patronize with one I don't (and consider the polar opposite, really). That's quite a feat. Cheers!

A clever idea extremely well executed. Above all, your giant robot's face has a bit of a 50s look. Brilliant.

This is a great idea - of course, now you need to create Ebul Castlemek and have them duke it out Lego-e-Lego :D Great build - I really like this one. Only thing I would add would be minifigs hanging from the Castlemech, heckling the fleeing foes.
