This is an entry, my final creation, in the 2012 Mocathalon. The category is the Darwin Awards. In this scene, an astronomist by the name of Cahrlie has a very nasty wife. She hates his job, and his passion for meteorites. In the end, she meets her demise...
Its been a really fun year competing in the Mocathalon Chris!!! Hopefully you will all agree that i have somewhat improved my building skills from when I first arrived on the pages. Thanks so much you guys!! Please comment and rate as you think fits the build!!

It was a nice day in the country.
Flowers blooming.
Berries falling.
Nice for everyone except for poor old Charlie, a lonely astronomer with a horrible wife.

Charlielived in this quiet little cottage, a seemingly peaceful arrangement.
Except for the fact that the whole area rang with Charlie's wife's scoldings and yells.

Today it had been extremely bad. Charlie's wife had chased him out of the house with a coffee mug, Charlie's ipad, and an old sausage.
With a sigh, Charlie sank to the ground, picked up his ipad, and started to nibble the sausage.

Within a few minutes, Charlie's old friend, Ralph the postman, arrived.
"What's wrong?" asked Ralph. And he joined Charlie on the ground, handing him a letter.

My wife says she doesn't like my job, being an astronomist and all.
She remembers when we graduated, she told me she wanted me to be a marine or something spiffy, and now I'm an old astronomist.
I remember when she.... CLUNK "UH-OH" Thought Charlie.

"HEY YOU MAILMAN, GIVE MY MISERABLE HUSBAND THAT LETTER AND SCRAM FAST!!!"

And he ran off, fast.
"Why do you have to be a stupid astronomist, studying meteorites and such. Isn't it like a ratio of 1 to a million that a meteorite will hit the earth?" Said his wife.

Yes but... RUUMPHHHHHH, a meteorite had obliterated Charlies wife, she was the one in a million. Poor Charlie's wife.
And that was the end of Charlies wife.

An overhead view.
The roof of the house, it's supposed to look like slate, which I think it does. The roof used up all my grey cheese slopes.
The bridge.
The stream.

Some flower, with a dirt/dark rock pile behind it that I thought looked good.
The mail box with another dirt pile.

The house with the deck, and landscape around it.

Gotta love meteors that have pin-point accuracy when hitting unfortunate targets. LOL! Even more amazing is that Charlie was left unscathed! All smiles in any situation! |

A good solid build, with some well thought out, if not mind blowing, detail. I was gonna give this a 'Very Good' score of 4, but then I got to the charred skeleton and burst out laughing!! As such, 5 : ) Love it |

More "irony" than "Darwin" in my opinion, but still a nice little build. 3 points ~ Chris. |

Huh, kind of reminds me of the old English nursery rhymes, so dark, yet funny at the same time. |
