23. Vanishing Eden
Create a MOC that touches on environmental consciousness. Pick a life form or location from anywhere in the world that is threatened, and do a MOC that raises awareness.
I picked a life form, built him, and named him Randall.
This was a pretty challenging build for me, and I spent a lot of time and thought on it starting right after the categories were announced. I looked at dozens if not hundreds of pictures of pandas, read random facts about pandas (They have the second longest tail in the bear family at 5.1 inches), posted WIPs for my team at various stages, measured my WIP to achieve the proper proportions, made a Bricklink order, built a display stand, took dozens of photos, uploaded and edited them, retook ALL THE PHOTOS, learned about photo editing, etc.
Overall a beneficial if not uniformly enjoyable experience.

Interesting that in a short time we got bears for the same entry on Eden. (BTW, not saying there was copying, as this bear is too detailed to have been thrown together hurriedly as a copy,) |
